While I do not work at a dealer, I understand that Dealer Gross Profit on new Porsche sales to be 13% of MSRP. I think that is an all-in number. Then add whatever the Dealer can make on financing, insurance, extra warranty, etc. I believe that it is rare for a Dealer to sell a car under this amount. I also understand that Porsche pretty much never offers any type of subsidy such as Factory-to-Dealer or Factory-to-Customer cash back. I have also seen Dealers add slow moving cars to the loaner fleet or the Demo fleet. Porsche will pay a Dealer when a car is entered into those fleets, so its a good way for a Dealer to get some money on a slow-moving car. But, then it becomes a "used car" in a sense even though it is not titled.

It’s your money and not mine, so its easy for me to say, but if you find one that you like with the right combination of options and color, I would not let a few thousand get in the way of a purchase. You will forget about that money over the life of your time with the car. JMHO though.

I see a handful of 2018s Ts sitting on lots. Any thoughts on a reasonable % off of MSRP I might expect to negotiate?

I understand margin and profit, but a new 18 leftover is a year old car. If you can get 10% off a new 2019, why would you pay the same. Your money, spend it how you like. Just stating some points.

I dare say that with how fun the Carrera T is, you’ll forget about it within a day or so!

Just took delivery of my used (250 miles) 2018 991.2 Carrera T today. Unfortunately, it is raining in the Bay Area, but I still managed to put 150 miles on it. All I can say is wow! Can wait until I am passed the break in period.

From what I've read, the consensus is to keep rpm below 4k for 2k miles, vary speed on the highway, and warm oil temp to 180 before revving above 3k.

I kept it under 4k for the first 500 miles. Long trips, plenty of heat/cool/rev variation for the first 500 miles. Then +500 RPM after every 125 miles. Up to red line now, and no issues. Time will tell if this receipe worked. If you have PCCB, don't be afraid to follow a bedding regime for then as well. Good luck/enjoy!

It’s in the owner’s manual under ‘running in’.

Just a reminder of BlackOptic's helpful list of reviews. Tgavem, maybe you could add this list to your original post in this thread. Just a thought.

P.S. Looks like Pete edited his original thread/review. I expect you'll need to get 000 issue 006 to access it now.

P.P.S. There have been so many great video reviews of the Carrera T. Some of them are in the list posted above but there are many others now. One day, if I find the time, I'll collect them and post the list.
