Default Is anyone else disappointed by the Carrera T Auto Rev match function ???

Like most on this forum I have been intrigued by the Carrera T and it's promise of a more pure and connected driving experience... The LWB option w/ rear seat delete , shorter gearing and less sound deadening all sounds fantastic , I liked what I was seeing... Even as a die hard NA fan I considered possibly / eventually looking into one.

Until that is , I realized that the mode switch on the steering wheel is the same as that of a car spec'd with Sport Chrono that includes the auto rev match function for both Sport and Sport Plus modes....

To me, that's a huge disappointment and let down.... Porsche on one hand promises a car that appeals to the more hardcore enthusiast then on the other hand adds in one of the most infuriating features for an MT as standard equipment???

Am I the only one who thinks this decision made by Porsche was completely contradicting of the "T" 's main focus???

Disengage PSM and the rev matching feature goes away in all modes. Now that is hardcore.

I am not 100% sure since I don't follow the 718s very much. It is the same on the 991.1 and the 981s so I assume the same is true on the 718s. Porsche doesn't change much between their sports car lineups (at least on these technical nuances)

Cool, another good reason not to order SC.

I can’t see why you would expect otherwise.

Are you sure about this?

In the 981 GTS w SC (and I assume in the 991.1) auto rev is enabled in Sports+, but not in Sport or standard
In the 991.2 GTS (and I assume with the 718) it was changed so auto rev is enabled in Sport, but not in Sports+ or standard. Surprised it would be different in the T.

Yes. I said the same thing in a sister thread. However, when you disengage PSM, rev matching is disabled in all modes for all the models we just discussed including the 991.1 GTS, and 981s.

See above discussion. I don't assume anything. I ask questions and try to discover intelligent conclusions.
For instance, I don't assume that someone who makes a snarky comment on an internet forum is a jerk. It might mean the person is a jerk, but then again, it might not mean anything.

Yeah, I'm clear that disengaging PSM will disengage rev match. But that isn't ideal since PSM becomes appropriately less intrusive as you progress from normal to sport to sport +.

Are you telling me auto rev in my new 991.2 GTS is enabled in BOTH sport and sport+ ???!!!!! TELL ME IT AIN'T SO! If it wasn't minus whatever F'ing degrees Fahrenheit and snow covered roads I'd run out an check right now..

You are right not to make assumptions, because my comment was not meant to be snarky. Nor am I a jerk. It was a serious, not glib response. Also, I was responding to the original post, not yours.

The T is merely a specialized collection of options. I would not expect the programming of the transmission to differ from that of the other series production models. If I am not mistaken, even the GT3 manual has the same operation of its rev matching. If that far more serious performance oriented car doesn’t change the programming, I would not expect the T to. I do not believe the OP’s assertion is correct

No, it should be on in Sport and off in sport Plus like the other models.

Is it not possible to disable via the "Individual" setting? That's what I plan to do.

No. In individual mode, you can only choose Sport, sport +, enable/disable auto start stop, PSE, PSAM setting, and spoiler. You can't separately break out rev matching.
