Help! manual T owners.
Ive been hearing a "Chime" noise much like a text message but no messages, no alerts on dash, no speed limit settings. Finally traced it to a mechanical rear end noise. I can duplicate it by accelerating normally in either 2nd, 3rd or fourth then abruptly lifting off the throttle. Drove me nuts for a while and will stop by dealership but curious if any other T owners with manual gearboxes have noticed this "chime" noise.

PS: I have not heard this, but only have 750 miles on mine.

I don’t think RAS is an absolute must per se but I do find the combination of the base Carrera engine with suspension upgrades and RAS to make for a pretty special driving feel. And congrats on the RS. A lot of us GT guys love the T, so you’re in good company.

I bought my T after taking delivery of GT3, so totltally different. GT is not a daily driver so the t with manual gearbox does daily driving chores. RWS pays absolutely no dividends on the street. If you are going to chase lap times with any 911 on track then RWS will work. Get power steering plus for 10% the cost of RWS and get the same feel on the street. The T is a great compliment to any GT car in the stable.

I think you may be right as after the “chime” there is a continuation of noise for a brief period until I get back on the throttle and the engine torques again. Will put car up on lift and check the shields.

Rosenbergendo - On the RWS I have to disagree with the above. For me RWS is a must. In everyday driving it makers the car feel smaller and more nimble. If you can drive one with and without. Bang a U-Turn with RWS and you'll feel it in a big way.

RWS - I live in the Midwest. I don’t need to turn the wheel more than a few times a day. No doubt that you are doing this, but factor in your likely use when deciding to get it or not. I have a T without it, but I bought off of the Dealer lot. If I had ordered the car, and I didn’t need the extra couple of thousand, I would have ordered the RAS.

I go to lots of porsche club meets & other car events and the T is special ! I yet to see another one & enjoy the chat about what the car is and its back ground etc. For me its been a beautiful experiance building one to order & making it personal to me Next up for me is the 992 gt3 but until then i am in love
