Afraid that is a big bag of meh from me. And though I own a 911 I am 100% a Boxster/Cayman guy (have a 981 Boxster GTS).

The issue I have is, to me, the base 911 is PHENOMENAL. Of course the S, GTS, and all the others are great too. But to me their reason for being "better" than a base Carrera is options, not power. And the T solves that.

The Boxster/Cayman are a slightly different story. The upgrade from the Base 2.0 to the 2.5 in the S/GTS is significant. It truly distinguishes it as a better car and experience. The Boxster/Cayman T? Not so much.

The perfect weekend 911 for me would be a manual Carrera T. The perfect weekend 718 Boxster/Cayman remains the GTS (but I'm not trading my 981 for one).

Porsche says the 718 T is "Maximum Driving Pleasure" and a "purist" car inspired by the 911 T. They should know. They seem to disagree with you so I guess you will have to take it up with them. Good luck!

I will. By keeping my 981 GTS!

They'll get my money when they release the 718 Spyder. Or whatever the heck that wailing 718 Boxster mule was caught going around the Ring recently.

That's a "From my cold, dead hands" kind of car. Everything after that is just marketing and Sino-European engineering.

You mean ROTFLMAO, don't you?

It was just plain ROFLMAO in my day, back before all this 'T' stuff became so popular.

I was set on ordering a 718 GTS, drove 718 and 911 back to back. On public roads 911 felt so much better but I am getting old.

Don't get me wrong. I like the Carrera T. ( I was actually comparing the 981 to 718). I was close to buying one myself. The car is great, it's the self-absorbed owners that are the problem. But then again , that can apply to almost any Porsche model, even the SUVs. I guess that is just what happens when you buy into a lifestyle brand.

Enjoy your T.
