Sounds like a great day was had by all. I had every intention of visiting for a couple of hours to admire Macca's GT3, all the other assorted Porsches, and most of all BB, but it wasn't to be.

Found this on an old hard drive.

Nice one Mark. Bet you found the straights much shorter and the corners sharper than before. Good on you for giving her some high protein track in her diet and not sparing the horses.

Good to see the BB leaderboard taking shape. Won't work in my favour, but I reckon keep the first run times alongside the best ever lap until all have have a first run, then drop to the single best time board. Will BB be there at the sprints or would that be pushing it?

Classic prang pic above and hopefully NINEXI doesn't take it that badly. First saw it well before I'd automatically think 'photoshopped' but would say so now.

Macca - choices, choices...
think this outcome(991gt3 vs 993) was discussed and predicted many pages back on this thread. Nice one

Someone post the summary leaderboard now on BB

Heres a quick one for Matty G. Hell recognise the gauge in use.
17.23s was best during the four sessions with the 993. Not quite as low as I had hoped - I have run the footages, the traces and my mental notes and there are a number of areas for improvement both car set but mostly driver. Plenty of feedback and thoughts there but will have to wait till this evening as the GT3 myself & Paul are on a 3-400km Ron and Patsy drive today in the drizzel and rain...

Enjoy your run. Are you taking footage?

Walter, BB is Sprints compliant. Well at least she passed 2Kcup race scrutineering in May. I personally have no problem with you or anyone else taking her out on the Day. It would be great to get some more times up on the board.

My take on the car is that we maintain her within reason as is until something big gives, like the engine or transmission, then we reassess. She has done 10 sessions so far and isn't falling apart. I'd like the chance to best Dave's mark before she meets her demise, but equally it is $200 I've counted as gone so if you break her, then no problem.

closer look got the picture now with the list a couple of pages further back.

close in the 1.29's so everyone there will be thinking there is scope to improve and hoping the car keeps going for another couple of rotations through the roster. good one guys

Macca - a 'please explain' why you came all the way from the islands and didn't take your turn...

Gutted to have missed out (yet again) but not unhappy to be enjoying a calm 26 degrees (though haven't seen a single p-car in 5 days!.) Sounds like another great RSG day - maybe time to squeeze in a few BB runs before we head to Taupo and Manfield?

I've seen two in my three days in Japan (a lot of which has been on the road); a stunning blue 964 flew past, plate read 9 6 4. I lusted after it from my seat in a Nissan X Trail. Second was a yellow 996.

Surprised at the lack of interesting cars on the road, especially on a long weekend. What I do appreciate is the acceptance of 'speeding'. Expressway runs at a calm 140kph. No cops seen at all. Speed cameras apparently won't ping you if you keep <150.

Isn't a moment that I don't wish I had my car for the whole trip. Can't wait to get in the rental in a weeks time (if I can get over the language barrier and sort it out).

Pete, we could always book a normal session for BB and divide the costs between whoever turns up. Even three is enough to make it worthwhile. $140 for the session and looks like $75 for the gas = $36 per session, assuming you get six in.

Jake, the FB 964 page has 9,700+ members and there are a reasonable number of Japanese posts, although Thailand seems to have more customised ones.

While you lot are holidaying, track running and road running I've been putting the Turbo 3.6 back together. Just an alignment and height setting to do, then it's ready for a road trip. Later this year I'll paint the calipers. It drives like an absolute dream now.

Is anyone interested in running BB on Saturday, 2 August? Normal Play Day group. As stated above, approx $36 per session. I'm happy to limit myself to one session, especially if there are new names to put on the leaderboard.

Pete. Id love to have had a go but was spoilt for choice on the day truth be told. When we arrived at the track it was 1.5 degrees at 8.15am! Unfortunately it was "Pea Soup" fog which didnt start to lift until 11am when we were finally able to get on the track. The first session was little more than a mild re introduction to the circuit as it was still quite damp and our tyres were all very cold and slippery. We had a large group and the next session and the following were about finding a good line up to reduce congestion. The fourth session was warmer and dry and when it looked like we would get only one more session in before the rain (on cue at 4.15 just like the met service told us!) it was a call off between BB and "The Storm Trooper" (my 26 year old sisters nic name for the GT3 when she saw it for the first time on Friday!). Actually I was very anxious to take the GT3 on track having over cooked it in session four in the 993 over the hill and also being mindful of the huge differential in straight line speed - but the car had been sitting on the forecourt all day with everyone asking me when I was going to take it out so the decision became a moot point, and infact was the highlight of my day truth be told, so Im very glad I chose to take it out. Unfortunately BB will have to wait another day for me so please dont break her in the meantime guys!
