Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?
I am reading for while on rennlist but registered myself today.
John, I am using the "cheap" brake bleeding method with a little valve in the bleeding hose. The valve doesn't let air back in the caliper and no 2nd person is needed for the job.
This is the thing I use:

The next day we're heading down to Hamilton for the family party so if I can't make it Sat I'll try to stop in on Sunday for a quick fang if BB is able to run and it can be squared off with the organisers.
Looking forward to seeing many of you at the cart track next weekend either way.

I'm keen but my youngest son's turning 3 that day (shares your birthday?) so some delicate negotiations would be needed. Maybe I can give him a racetrack visit as a present... Not sure about BB on the Sprints. I get the sense from Paul that she might be too bogan, even if she is track ready.
I need to plan a family trip to the US and fill the bags with parts coming home. Yes, the motive bleeder is the preferred one, but will likely cost
$250 all up in NZ. A lot for the mechanics of a glorified garden spray pump bottle. I'll keep looking around. Surely there is a DIY solution on the local market apart from the $16 special at super cheap.

Warwick, any tips for polishing Speedlines? These are $13,000 plus a set new, if obtainable, so I want to be careful. Wheels are fine, no nicks, scratches etc. I just want to make them shine like new.
Welcome Ralf, I get the one way valve advantage but their instructions require someone to pump the pedal. This was discouraged on the 964 in an article I read, which is why the motive is recommended. I like the thought though. These in conjunction with a pressure in the filling tank would do it.

googled the motive power bleeder. IT looks like a smart way to get the fluid quickly through the brake system and all air bubbles out. I do it with the valve and pedal pumping technique since ages. But the power bleeder might do the job better. What was the reason to prefer the power bleeder? I might get one too.
1. It pressurises the system so it's a one person job;
2. It feeds in fluid so avoids the possibility of draining the reservoir of fluid and introduced air.
I don't want to have to call around the house for help. More pain than it's worth.

You can also make your own for less than $10
944 reservoir cap and install a std air line aro coupling, use the regulator on your compressor to set pressure at 10-15 psi or so to bleed entire system on your own inc the locks. Very easy.
No big deal to keep an eye on the fluid level and top up as needed.

Where do you buy the special brake wrench?

Thought this might be of interest.
The Sony actioncam was too high so I have subsequently reduced the height a couple of inches to improve the visibility.
