Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?
Enjoy HD guys, I'm off to fix my Tip
Engine all pinned but we found it needs transmission work. A poor repair done somewhere before I bought her saw the transfer case gasket (which Porsche can't resupply) replaced with sealant, instead of a new gasket hand cut to shape. The closer seating put too much pre-load on the output cone bearings so these failed, overheating the ATF and thus contributing to a burnt clutch pack. The rest of it including the other packs is still as good as new I'm told.
So getting quotes at the moment to compare a local tranny rebuild (with original parts since no-one seems to want to send any upgrade parts to NZ) versus having Renntech or ESmotor upgrade it overseas. I believe they use higher spec parts such as innards from torque kings like the McLaren Mercedes SLR or the Maybach to produce a 1000Nm rated tranny versus 560 stock. I suspect air freighting the whole tranny to Florida or Turkey will hurt but at least I'd know it would be well over-engineered after.
The Hamilton forecast says sun. The Auckland forecast says rain. What will it be in the middle? So I haven't got a driveable Porsche and that would normally be tragic but tomorrow will be epic; GT3 for a warm up, leftie longhood hotrod for the track, and watching a bunch of middle aged men beating a Honda.
Back from the RSG track day. Was a good one. Stayed fine after a foggy start with rain threatening after 4pm when I bailed. Dave's record in BB seemed intact. We reckon we should make a sticky thread on the RSG site with the leaderboard. Everyone enjoyed their runs in her.
Had a nice controlled slide through turn one (and several others) today. Kept the foot on the gas and came through ok. Getting a bit bored with these track days so looking forward to the sprints in early August.
The iOS 7.1 upgrade cooked my iPhone wifi like a gazzillin others so Harrys Lap Timer wouldn't capture my times. So will have to wait for the Sprints to see if I'm getting as fast as Herman.

You guys lemme know when you want me to show you how it's done.
Cold day to start but as Doug said, stayed dry til the end.
Had a great time with Stu from Downforce in the cockpit - I'm back down to my pre-crash 964 times (1:24.5) & able to see how much I'm leaving on the table. Extended gas/brake transitions, deep, late braking and early power on. I believe Paul also set a personal best despite the temps! I can recommend Stu to anyone trying to get past a plateau.
I'm tempted to chalk it all up to my new digital Longacre tire gauge, though...

What I'd like to have is a way to record the names and times and put them in the car. Small magnetic board? I have a couple of magnetic race numbers that were the wrong shape and can cut them up and put names to them.
How well did BB last? We need 6 more co-owners to get their runs in. Thanks to Chris B we no longer need to worry about a WOF or Rego after they run out. Any thoughts from the people who have run so far where this is going? Do we run her into the ground?
john, bb was bags of fun. thanks again to you dave and both Chris's for organising this. We nick named her the howler after getting an earful of the tyres on every corner. the setup as is is pretty fun until we want more oversteer somehow maybe.
you are right about the traffic in that group (we ran in slow group today). to get a clear run we'll need to run at the back away from all mx5s and other bb dopelgangers such as the other black integra there today.
