Mic is the built in forward facing onboard system but much better than the GoPro built in unit.

This lap is one of the slower ones (1.14.48) due to traffic. With the GT3 you only get 3 clear laps before you are passing the cars at the back so traffic is a way of life - however unlike the 993 where its almost impossible using Playday etiquette to overtake a car more powerful than you even if its slower in the corners, with the GT3 you no longer have that issue....

Can't find the link now - typical. The article showed a crow foot spanner. Good to know I can use what I have.

I use nothing but standard ring / open enders for brake work along with my home made reservoir cap.
Bleeds the whole system in 20 mins on your own.

But whether there needs to be some biasing work I need to do. The rears are 4 pots. Jake if you see some more Japanese porsche style it would be great to see them, What did you end up renting for your drive?
If got some single pot rear callipers I can swap for your two pot ones if you like ;-P

Seriously, have a chat with Steve. He knows the car. I don't think I've ever had such a problem. My little rear callipers get pretty hot but as far as I know I've not had rear wheel lock up. If it's going to happen, Barrel 51 is the place for it for sure.

Macca, that video of you circulating HD is amazing. Do you know what your vmax was? And the sound. The 993's a goner now I reckon, heh.

Macca,

I love it how you choose to post the lap of you overtaking Yada (and then describe him as 'traffic').

Them's fighting words mate...........

Hi Doug. The lap with the traffic (Sam & Steves track car) was actually my fastest - the Vmax was 231 kmph and the speedo shows 236 kmph just before breaking. I think getting turn 10 sorted will give a little more maybe a GPS 238 kmph is possible?

The sound is wonderful in the car and this was with the windows up.

Theoretical best (uses best sector from the session) for that session was 1.13.30 which should be quite achieveable next time out IMO.

I am using a similar spanner like that for the bleeding nipples:

Cleaning
*Don't clean your wheels when they are hot to touch
*Use a ph balanced, non-acidic cleaner. Some of them change colour when reacting to ferrous iron particles of the brake dust, e.g. Sonax Wheel Cleaner or CarPro Iron X
*Let the cleaner dwell for a couple of minutes. Use a lug nut brush or similar to agitate the the grime
*Rinse
*Dry with microfibre

Polishing
It sounds like your wheels are in good condition so I expect you won't need to polish them much. I guessing they are clear coated so you could use a product like Meguiars Ultimate Polish to remove some of the micro scratches. The techniques are not dis-similar to normal paint finishes. Un-coated wheels are much harder to polish and need mechanical assistance.

Sealing
Seal with a wheel glaze or sealant. This is to provide shine but mostly to help prevent brake dust from settling on the surface again. For best shine these will often need applying weekly for best results.

The upshot to all this is that brake dust is the enemy. To perform the above starts to get pricey. There are all in one cleaners but what ever you get make sure in non-acidic.

Lastly, be careful of the outer rims as the etching is hideously difficult to repair.

Thanks Warwick, I knew I shouldn't have started on the cosmetic side as there is no end to the tweaks once you start. The calipers need a repaint, which is the perfect time to get the bling back in the wheels. I think the center is clear coated and the rim is not.

Here's a little clip for some fun - features Ralf and friends. Phil stars here, Richard Snow is in the distance and I think shortly after the clip ends Chris M plays a role...

Ill stop boring you all now. Just getting an overdose on broadband fibre (50mBPS). I cant believe Ive done almost 150GB of upload to the cloud in only 4 days!

Hi Macca,

Looks like there was something broken at my car. You were flying past me like I was standing still. That car is just amazingly fast.
