Mate - that was the sugar coated version.

I'm starting to like 996's more all the time. I really like the stance, rims and side decals on this. Looks perfect and sounds primo with cargraphic exhaust........

Update from Macca:
Thanks for all of your support. John told me that there were multiple posts. I haven’t had time to look myself.
We arrived in Port Vila on Tuesday by taking seats on an otherwise empty inbound medivac flight.
What awaited us is worse than we imagined in many ways. Infrastructure is badly damaged. Power is out and 1.5km of the road to our properties is gone, it’s almost impassable. It will take many months to fix both as there are more pressing needs in the country and our immediate area is sparsely inhabited.
Things will soon start to get ugly in town. Sanitation is poor with drinking water at a premium, making disease a possibility. There is a curfew to stop looting, cash is king and hardware stores are sold out of the larger items e.g. chainsaws and generators.
We have a generator but can’t use it until the house wiring dries out. Right now we’re treating the staff and their family’s medical needs with bandages and antibiotics. They are staying in our damaged cottages.
With so much damaged, we’ve still to form a medium -term plan. We may stay here for 3 or 4 weeks until we’ve made sure the staff are ok and secured the properties, then return to New Zealand to regroup and plan. This is not something that will return to normal in a few months.
I am thinking of setting up a donation site for the local village, but am pressed for time and technology. I know that there are a number of options already set up so am concentrating on what we can do in our immediate area. It’s a fluid situation.
Thanks again for all of your concern. All plans for the next few years are on hold, but at least the people close to us are safe, the rest can and will be rebuilt.

^^^ Kinda scarey how first world problems like picking your GT4 colour can become third world problems like having the basics of life (food/water and a loo).

Puts things into perspective.

We need to do a fund raising event (something to do with Pcars :-) ) - errrrr - I just need to have 1 that goes.........??

That is a nice car, looks real good, apparently goes like **** off a shovel etc. I love the Turbo, and its kick *** when you give it the jandal, but you just can't use it on the roads like that, and it is not a track car in the true sense, like John or Petes Caymens. Track to me is just a buzz when it suits, as I have too many other toys, and hobbies. I have not got the time to do a Dave and roll them over every few months (apart from Mr Orange), so whatever I buy would probably just sit in the garage like the TT. I tried 964 and 993's when first trying to convince the would be passenger of Porsches merits ,but she was not convinced with the bony ride and sound, associated rattles etc.. Hence the more modern water cooled model. I'll probably just stick with the T.

No invite, but Saturday doesn't work for me anyway. The plumber discovered the cause of the garage leak - a black plastic pipe used years ago that has proven faulty and my garage renovation just added another dimension, which requires some demolition work as I will take out the existing sink.

I've used both. Can't say I noticed much difference. Now I'm sold on back roads, as the policing is a lot lighter.

Regardless of what you get, make sure it can be configured for NZ frequencies. Apparently not all can (according to a local installer). Every time I've asked, the Escort Passport series has been the answer.

It sounds like you've rationalized it well and truly. It sounds like a fair and reasonable approach. I would very much like a 6.2 gt3 but can't justify having > 1 pcar and couldn't bring myself to part with my 64. I say that now but we are still in the romantic period. Someone may make an offer
I couldn't refuse and i would have to seriously consider. Never say never

I was good until I rode shotgun with Doug and Macca. I suggest that you avoid driving in any car that may tempt you. That said, the personality of the 964 is not present in the current crop so there is a space for old and new in a garage.

Don't drive a GT3 - having 150hp more, 100 kg's less and revving 1K higher will totally corrupt you. The C4 would be a gone burger...........
