A few separate topic heres!

1. Yeah G27 has a good rep and GT6 is pretty good. Is not quite up to the level of the top PC sims but I found it pretty accurate, no Porsche cars pains me though! I "upgraded" to a PS4 which has no good driving games and Logitec wheels don't work so I am regretting it a bit.

2. So is an Escort 9500 the go if you want the best? Where have you guys bought for in NZ before?

3. The whole written proof of driver training thing seems quite onerous. Are you talking to Prestigio direct or through a broker?

Hmmm, I always tell my son to learn from others' mistakes.... Time to change to Prestigio

Default SITT 2016

Talking to Tony@playdays it seems that with the lower numbers attending this year, they should break even and that the SITT should in future be run every two years. However if they can be confident of at least two car groups going down next year, eg a Rennsport group and a Prestige group then they should be able to fill the other spaces. So perhaps we could have a list of ALL who want to do it next year..., maybe there's enough for two Rennsport groups, then Tony and Gary can be confident enough to make a plan?

GT6 has Bathurst on it now which is pretty cool.

No, I've never had insurance at the track. An accident would hurt the pocket but not be a disaster. That said, given its relative rarity I'm questioning the wisdom of hard tracking the R.

There are so many other options with it, including the Tour (didn't think I would ever say that) that I'm not sure I want to see where the adhesion boundary is at HD.

Unfortunately I've been scheduled for work in Australia during the NITT so that makes the decision even easier as there won't be as many track opportunities for me as last year.

Leong - we should encourage people to sign up on the RSG thread if interested. There are currently 14 signed up and at 20-25 we'd certainly have 2 groups. Plus there are the Prestige guys not part of RSG - but easy to combine. Always a few from down South. I'd say it looks like we could certainly do 2 Groups. An early deposit when the time comes to commit will sort the likely ones.

Ouch and double ouch. Sobering stuff Doug. I've taken the trouble to be insured for track whenever possible so the PCNZ Sprints are about the only uninsured events I've run her in, bar gymkhanas. For Prestigio cover to be in place on track, I do need to advise them in advance each time and get confirmation back though - usually with a higher excess and sometimes with conditions like 'speed logging required' or 'death cover does not apply'.

^^^^ yep that's right. $5k excess at track, $10k excess targa tour. Good to have that cover and the premium seems to be pressure normal price. Targa Tour costs a little more premium $180 per event or something like that. But take a little $25k incident and you'd be happy to have that cover.

Just takes an email notification to prestigio each time you register for an event.

Long time lurker on here, but I never realised my Prestigio insurance covered for trackdays so long as I run in the prestige group at playdays. Might have to get the Lotus back out on track. Is it just as easy as giving them a call / email and letting them know the date of your trackday with Playday?

I have swan insurance, was under the impression that it's any track day. Didn't think excess was that much either.

BadgerNZ, best to call them as there's a few things to be squared away like driver training history.

Shannon, Swan did the right thing when this happened so we know they cover accidents on the track. Not sure what the conditions are though.
