Congrats Dave, looks good. You will need a motor vehicle dealers licence soon!

I was seriously chasing that white Turbo with the green leather, whipped up the courage over a week to make the acceptance speech last friday to the guy but he texted first to say it had gone. Bugger, but To be honest, I felt a little relieved -in hind sight it would have eaten my head off and got to me just like my 993 did - too good to touch and too much coin tied up.

Nice one Dave, glad I could help. It would be sad to see that one disappear. If I couldn't buy it then at least a fellow RL'er could. Did you ask the seller about the 3.3T he just bought?

Yeah, thanks Mate. Work out well. I saw the 964 Turbo but not in detail. Silver with aftermarket wheels, maybe a little work needed bodywise but didn't really get a decent look.
He jumped on this SC in December but then the turbo came up a few days later. He wasn't that fussed on letting the SC go it seemed but the deal came off so I'm happy.

A bit of action lately for sure but a groove is forming and some stability will come. I'll have this one for at least 9 months I reckon. It has a rebuilt 915 which is superb so it might get used daily for a while.
Hope the Golf is going well for you. Fantastic car that. Set a lap time yet?

+1 on both counts. Nice score Dave - presume no plans to mod, just a nice original car?

Have you guys worked out who has the longer ownership list yet?

I can see car repainting is a 6 month exercise - CBNZ and the dude with the blue 993 where there for similar times (not complaining - just hanging to get my car back).........

At least it's keeping the mileage down.

Macca is the 993 coming tomorrow or are you going to play with Ron, Richard and Jon??

Given how well Jon can peddle a car (Bridgestone chap a few times) - I think we may get some interesting lap times (possibly.......)

I have been told by a PCNZ racer with a 997.2 GT3 RS they are good for circa 1.10 in road trim.

The new 991 GT3's must be high 1.08's in the right hands and set-up?
You must be secretly getting the Special Order builders option fitted on the sly Paul

I'll just drive it as it is. The tail has to go but I won't get into too many dollars if that gets too hard to change. Anyone got a bare lid?

Absolutely loving the Golf thanks, perfect for a rush hour traffic commuter when you commute 80km's a day. Horses for courses. Fast on the open road in the twisty stuff and okay at HD. I did 5 laps on the Hankook V12's but never had a chance to bleed any air out of them before I started and no race brake fluid (enough excuses?) and did a 1.23, so should be good for 1.20 - 1.21.

If all went well he had his glass put in today, which is a big step. He also dropped off the seats bought from you.

If there weren't so many cue jumpers (John and Helen!!) - some work might be getting done on my car.........

John can confirm the story of the 997.2 RS doing 1.10's in road trim........

I can't remember who Kev said the guy was??

So a 991 GT3 must be good for 1.08-09 depending on setup??

Yes, Kev confirmed that. I think he said it was at the dual sprints. Can't remember the driver name.

Overall, possibly an expensive day as when the screen job was starting to look difficult Kev took me upstairs for a coffee to talk over car plans. Now planning a ride down to Tauranga with Pete to check out the R.

Very keen to know who the driver was. Maybe John remembers? Be good to get some pointers. The 991 GT3 seems to be around 1-1.05s faster per lap than the outgoing 997.2 GT3RS on the shorter European laps like Castelaine so Im thinking your guess is right. These guys must be awesome behind the wheel. Stu and I agreed a mid 1.12 is in the offering on street set up if I get some practice in and can start using the brakes properly (later and harder) and start to trust that the chassis can carry much more corner speed) but beyond that Id have no idea how you pick up a further 3+s deep into 997.1 Cup territory. Those guys just be lighter than Chris M :-)

Congrats David. She looks smart. Is that a bit of paint over-spray I see on the door handle gasket ;-P

Looks like a year of constantly changing garages. You snooze you loose. I still think the idea of renting a unit and collectively buying around 8-10 cars that we take collective custody and usage off has merit!
