Sadly Scarlett had a flat battery, so the 6GT3 got the booty call.
Dougie - I think the 6GT3 is 'almost' b road friendly, I managed to not get air-born or bottom out/scape once. I will need to verify this with that extra twistie road you took me down last time.

Looks like you nailed the weather too. Good to get some miles on the GT3 to shake down the new suspension and check the brakes are all working Paul before NITT!

You dont want to do the Whangamomona Road in a Cayenne John. That road is epic and the only way to do it justice is in something like a 911 IMO!
Maybe join Doug and I for the "NZ Rally - 50th Anniversary Tour" in the Cayenne? That would be a good rig for it with AWD for the gravel sections :-)

Good idea about the Cayenne for the 50th rallying anniversary trip. More fun in a 911 of course. Made for C4 John :-P

10/11 December might be the sweet spot post NITT and pre Christmas. Sorry, leave balance is all gone post Europe so I won't be doing the rally tour.

SS13 near end of day 2 fast, wet, gravelly, good to get confidence up in the wet as day 3 had a lot of wet mileage too.
1.40 sec 200k into left over crest
6.00 uphill left looks fine on entry but goes off camber mid corner and by then my eyes were already further up the road. enough road to catch it but bank looming.

The late afternoon run on dry roads into Whangamomona from the Taihape end after the gravel section, I would rate as the best road drive I've ever had.
