Dropped into Melbourne dealership, two RS and a left hand drive 993 rebuild and bare metal prep for track use...

Wow Steve! The bare metal rebuild car looks like its going to be GT2 EVO spec. Now that will be an awesome looking car. The work seems extensive, someone is dropping some big $$$.

Paul, strongly recommend the door straps are checked to make sure they have been reinforced. Done both of mine in the last 2 years, doors off, cut into the back of the pillar, and then repainted etc.
Ideal time to do it now if they haven't been done.

Nik. depends on the market. 993TT is looking like 150-180k NZD now. You wont find anything decent under 150K anyway. CCS sold a ghastly yellow one with low mileage recently for over 200 IIRC to a guy based in Asia. In the UK 993TT moderate miles (55K) RHD UK new, history excellent condition etc will be 105K GBP+ and similar 3.6T will be 130-150K GBP so things are a little different in that market. the 3.6T is still a good buy in the NZ market I think.

I think half the reason they are so expensive in the UK is there where only a handful delivered. Whereas there are lots more 993TT's.
In NZ we have a disproportionate number of 3.6T's, so softens values Vs. 993TT values.
Your mate should buy John’s car…………

Like for like Km's, paint etc I think they'll fetch around the same dollars at the mo however over time IMO the 3.6T will surpass 993TT prices. The exception though would be a 993 Turbo S one owner high spec etc and the same would go for a Unique 3.6T
Of course at the end of the day it depends on the buyer and what he likes and why he's buying. Macca's car is a great example with a buyer interested at the same price as Johns lovely 3.6T but not looking at buying Johns car at all. So often there's no rational argument to the pricing.

Try the 993 board "door check strap" and get ready to be overwhelmed with posts. I cant remember in the ins and outs as I had it done in 2005 with glass out respray so it was long ago...

Gary. If you are not to late you should jump on Johns 3.6T.
2WD, pretty old school (nothing then bam), some leery oversteer when pushed in the wet. Nothing a GT3 owner hasnt experienced! 993TT 4WD, biturbo, not much lag, sharper turn in and more understeer, very planted and puts down the power more effectively, torque curve is flatter more modern conveniences marginally better build quality (the Japs had stepped in and sorted out the mess from the 3.2 era).
Very different cars. Only issue I see with them both is they are becoming collectors cars not drivers cars and I like driving cars not looking at them. However if yoiu bring the right attitude to the table then both great classics for the road!
