I find it annoying that the BaT listings never address the seller's knowledge of prior accidents or body work. They only address what the CarFax indicates.

BaT should include in their seller agreements a representation that seller knows of no incidents or body work on the listed car, other than as disclosed on the CarFax. If there is more history, then BaT should include it in the ad. If the seller won't make the representation, reject the listing. Then, each ad could either disclose or state something like: "The seller represents that he or she has no knowledge of any accidents or body involving this example, other than as disclosed on the CarFax."

Wow 237 was a surprise, kind of figured the silver and switched out colors would tone down the excitement for this RS.

Epic car nonetheless

The 3rd bidder bowed out at like $200 which is probably close to where the car would have landed if 2 guys didn't get their head around winning . That's why high auctions and low auctions get thrown out of the 'what its worth' convo.

I noticed that as well. The dude who won looks to almost never lose (20 cars won) so he wasn't ever stopping haha

Wouldn't change anything, because there's no consequence for the representation being false (knowingly or otherwise). BaT isn't creating or enforcing a sales contract between buyer and seller. They're purely providing a platform for a private transaction. Read their ts & cs carefully, and you'll see that BaT doesn't afford any recourse for a botched auction. Even if a high bidder completely flakes.

BaT does include this in their listing questionnaire. It asks about accidents, body and paintwork. If it’s not in the description, it’s because the seller didn’t disclose it to BaT.

Check out that silver 997 RS buyer’s win and bid history. Bought two cars today and 20 purchases recently. This car is probably going up for sale again soon.. sigh

The buyer thinks he'll get more than $242k for the car?

maybe?
I may have missed it, but I wonder if this was the same car that we discussed at length ~ 2 1/2 - 3 years ago when it was F/S @ Porsche of Irvine. I think it sold for ~ $105k.
It was orange / sil then. I offered $103 and was rebuffed.

I did the review of that car. I looked for it but failed. My google timeline says I was at Porsche Irvin on Jan 19, 2021 but I think that was the second time I visited that place so I'm thinking the date could be a little earlier if someone wants to look for the posts.
