I do agree with the last statement, I have the pics of my bumper repaint which I think would be helpful if someone “only” saw the carfax “minor damage”.
I know in years to come none of it will matter to where the seller will feel like they left money on the table. I would rather purchase a car with private party owner maintenance notes over the proof of a dealer maintained car, which to me isn't a stamp in a book but more like missing underbody fasteners.

I hate all my dealerships. My Audi went in for the Takata airbag replacement. It's not a daily driven car so I received the car back and just took it home and stuffed it in the garage. Two month later I had to get a smog check for registration. When I went to open the glove box, it nearly fell on the floor due to the dealership breaking the right hinge. Needless to say, I took a trip back to the dealer and it's still in progress. Waiting on a call back and will follow up with a service visit on the Etron, which they will not get until the RS4 glovebox is fixed.

I can go on and on about misdiagnosis on vehicles from both Porsche and Audi and why my home garage fixes problems with ease and with love that the dealer will never give to a car on the clock. Everything that comes off the car, gets cleaned before it goes back on the car. OG style! Obsessed Garage style.

@Bxstr Mentioned the BAT car and shift ****. Can somebody clue me in the to the difference between these two?

GT3 shift **** Suncoast part number 997GT3KNOB $339 GT3 **** $339

Another GT3 **** Suncoast part number says it must be special ordered from Germany part number SKU997GT3KNOB $595 GT3 **** $595

Did somebody goof and list it twice? We've done things like that at my business

The second (more expensive) **** is the correct version for a 997 GT3 or RS. Has the correct volcano grey finish on the cap, which the first one you linked does not have.

The only thing I see different between these shift ***** is that the more pricy one has a volcano gray shift pattern cap and the cheaper one is a satin silver cap. The alcantara could be different in color also but I can't tell from these pictures. Suck because everything else in the .1 is volcano, so .1 guys are stuck paying the extra $256 for the one with the correct color shift pattern cap.

Kevin, if you ever misprice one of those 6 figure amps, I take one.

Yeah but I can re-use my cap I suspect.

Rennlist members get a discount off list price Ed. We have mispriced stuff here and there. We had a special where if you bought a pair of KLH speakers you got free speaker stands. My web guy coded it wrong so you could "buy" the stands for zero dollars. Whoops.

I've ordered them. Yes the more expensive one has the volcano grey cap and the less expensive one has the satin. However, the e-break button is in satin so it will match the satin cap if you desire. Also the alcantara is dark grey for some reason in these new items

Yes as mentioned, the second one has the correct volcano gray finish. For some reason, seeing the normal version in our cars just really stands out to me.

Unfortunately, pricing just went up even more. MSRP now at $620. Price increases typically happen every quarter. If I remember correctly, it was priced around $400 a couple days ago on discount vs $560 on discount, from my local dealer that has an online store. Wouldn't be surprised if pricing goes up even more from Suncoast since they may not have updated it yet. https://www.onlineporscheparts.com/o...99742407592a15

Correct 997.1 GT3 volcano gray shift ****: 99742407592A15

That’s the correct part number for the 997.2’s as well.

Well the cap on my car is fine, and I wanted to have a spare. If the Alcantara is the same between the two that's a big step up in price for the cap color.

My Alcantara is OK but you know how it goes. If you can tell me where you saw it for $400 that would be great.

it was from onlineporscheparts.com, my local dealer. But, pricing just went up. You may want to check again in January to see if pricing comes down.
