Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

19th, is that a playday, what requirements?. My car has no track refinements like fire ext
I sold the track wheels I got from John, as they were too good..would have had to start mucking around with camber etc to get the best out of them ,and then probably would have popped a fu fu valve. New rotors and pads etc required..not where I am going. I can get my (competitive) track fix by reading this thread and watching Paul in wonder....
I'll PM u about the rock soon

I paid for my tyres by paypal last night. This morning Brian tells me my rear tyre is no longer in stock. Looks like another dealer has nabbed it!
I rarely buy in NZ. Now I know why....:-(

Matt. You are using C50 medium compound Z221 in 235/285 fitments right? Your front rims are 8J and rears are 10J? What are you running rear camber at (-2.0 or --2.30?).
Im having a think. I was using 235/265 on my old wheels. -3.00 front -2.30 rear was a great set up but have brought that back to -2.30 and -2.30.
Wondering if I can sneak a 285 under the rear on the OZ rims. May have to reduce rear camber to -2.00 to make it work (my 3 piece wheels which have until now been track wheels run 10.5J but have a more aggressive offset which wouldnt allow more than a 265 track tyre).
Also have an enquiry into Dunlop Motorsport. Would like more intel on their new 2014 M2/M compound DS03Gs as a possible alternative. The supply may be less fractured than Hankook.
Graeme - its great having your input. You dont often say alot but when you do, and after I do digging it reeks of years of motorsport experience! I think you know a whole hell of alot more than any of us on much of this stuff, but through experience trial & error and it does show through. Its great to have you input. I bet theres a tonne of stuff we could learn from watching you and your support crew during a Targa event (even if not all of it is transferable to old aircooled 911s!).
Phil. Its a Playday RSG group so you can just rock up on your street tyres if you wish and hang out on track. The rate Im going Ill be fighting with you at the back or peeling oranges for the drivers in the pits. Theres still no guarantee my 993 will be ready. Its going back together ok, but Murphy has been a bastard on this latest journey and Im half expecting the ***** to show up again before we are done....
P.S. PM me re The Rock. Not sure if you caught up with Charles. Hes sailing the Med with Megan on his yacht based out of Turkey. He called me a few months ago and wanted a hand so Im the official "go to guy" for the Marina. I can do you a great deal ;-)

Thanks Matt. Sorry. My cambers were in minutes yes. I typically run larger negative camber on front wheels. I have found the best setting fro front was -3.15 minutes with rears at -2.30 minutes. However when we sent to SITT with all the touring and the new Super Sports on the road wheels I didnt want to chew the insides out on I reduced the front camber only to -2.30 minutes (same as the rears). This was because I wanted to change the fronts at the track using the camber plates once teh track wheels were fitted. Its quite easy to do (if you have a camber guage). I though Dan was bringing one. Not the case so i gave up and just left it as is - which is where it is now. I have purchased the camber gauge set up from the UK racing outfit so that will not be a problem in the future....

Post the WOT fix I'm already ahead of Steve's split time from the exit of Barrel 51 to the start finish line. The area from Turn two through to barrel 51 is not a real source of concern either. What's killing me is the over braking at turn one.
Pushing it at turn 3 is a low percentage move as is trying a faster turn one on roadies.
To be honest, I'd rather not drive at all than compromise the experience and performance.

Sounds like too much camber for road tyres being driven on the road. Not sure that half a degree adjustment on arrival to the track is worth the effort, especially as it's going to mess up your toe which is equally important.
Also with a well designed camber plate, you can just mark off the adjustments you care about and there's no need for a camber gauge.

Time for a car swap at the track perhaps?...

Now, if I could just keep him on the same tyres from year to year...
Can we all watch? - first to write the other's car off loses!
