All of those interested in the RSG 'beater' car. Which of the following options interest you most?
1. 2k cup competitive car - run a time board like Top Gear with everyone getting a go, then enter it in events as a RSG team with drivers based on merit.
2. Same as above but not so focussed on finding a top competitive car.
3. RSG beater car running a time board like Top Gear with everyone getting a go. Car chosen based more on performance and condition than strict 2k cup rules. No real intention to run in 2k cup.

I'm thinking the 'Beater' could go on the NITT. I had Dave pegged as the Mule, but Steve sorted him out with a loaner. Given Paul's record with breaking cars I think finding a driver for the return leg will be easy

Only a couple more posts and 959 gets away without a single mention!
Dave, what's the loaner (carrera?) like to drive? I reckon that hole punched mesh look in the doors can make them look a bit cheaper. That's where something like the Singer criss cross can look good, whatever you do you'll need to play with the scale of the emboss a fair bit and on your chosen material before committing..

I'm a fan of #3. Don't know if it would spiral he costs too much - but what about a basic 924 that doesn't require WOF and we keep it at the track or nearby? I'm happy to provide it a place to live.

John I like option 1 although I will unlikely be there to participate. Gear idea to take on NITT as a back marker too but work will need to be swift to buy the car and gut her in time. I favour getting the most competitive ride we can then doing done smart work to reduce weight and improve handling aka chapman and Dennis style. Key is to have some fun and laughs but can't see shortage of those to be honest....
You gotta run fast to keep on topic on this thread! The above hasn't been my experience at all. Have just bought in Devonport and prices have continued to climb stupidly (that's maybe why I haven't kept up with the Pcar arms race). Maybe Devonport is different to the AKL market but can't see it.
Good analysis here

It will adjust but with construction required in CHCH and the trickle on costs to AKL and demand on tradesmen, the economic confidence in NZ (anyone disagree?), net immigration means we are short of supply. Rising mortgages at the rates to date don't matter in the high income bracket because people have plenty of $.
Could be wrong but when it does adjust, it won't take long to recover. Could be worth waiting but you might be waiting a while.
My amateur 10c (really a thinly veiled attempt to justify to myself why I just spent a fortune on a home with no garage).

before I went away..motorway heading for Devonport, and later on Whangaporaoa Rd.. Nioce looking car
I go to sleep early one night and I'm damn out of a 2K fun car! Count me in - guessing a bit of addl expenditure on a seat & brakes (safety costs don't go towards limit) - if there's room for another.
I've come across a thread or two on RL pretty unhappy with R888s when they get low and the non-R compound is exposed - as in zero warning & into the wall. Easily managed of course - don't wear them too low, but wanted to make it known.

Close the eyes for a second and this thread and its paticpants are Gone..
I got too many things as it is to do, even if I could drive like these experts..
Nobody wants to be 14th in the line up.....!!
However..
Pete, the 19th sounds like a go for me.. t'will make me get off my **** and do the car a service,,
Count me in please.. where to for the money?

Someone needs to insert a 959 before we miss it! (I'm not sure how)
Just been thinking, has anyone ever requested NZ gets it's own sub-forum? It would be a lot easier to divide things up into dedicated threads rather than having them all mingled into one here. Then there can be one for track talk, one for beater car, one for general etc.. Thoughts?
