Careful mate. That Gayman R has fresh z221s on it and is driven by a cup winning Porsche race series driver.....in the States good drivers in CRs are keeping 996 gT3 owners honest at the track you should know (no pressure Pete ;-))

No pressure at all for Pete and this is just the warm up before the mods. Wish I was there to watch the battle.

I've been in that car - 221's will make it a weapon..........

Tempted to see if I can find some 221's today to hold up the GT3 honor - I might be removed from a few GT3 forums if they where to find out I was beaten by a Gayman.

That's bollocks mate. trofeos just getting good at 3.5 easy kiwi track days according to the guys on GT3 board. That tyre doesn't seem to heat cycle and will run through till its corded unlike the MpSC2 which last longer but heat cycle. You are right in the sweet spot for the next 2-3 track days before you need to think replacements and only then when the shoulders are bare. They keep on giving till the end and our track minutes per day are so small compared to Many USA track formats (6-7 x 20-40 mon sessions) that they will likely go above the 6-7 track day average)...just saying as we'd hate you to use a nicely scrubbed in set of Trofeo R as an excuse now :-)

Trofeo R pretty much on the pace of Z221 ID say. If not can't be much in it as the TR are recognised as the stickiest and fastest European R comp available. Again just disarming another excuse for you Paul. Next up? :-)

Bloody hell Warwick those 964 sting plates are pricey aye. PAG going to have a field day raping us 964/993 newly minted "vintage" aircooled 911 owners down stream.

Found this in one of my NITT videos. The R has already had a taste of Manfield. Good hunting Pete

These are more reasonable but still circa $1,500 landed in NZ http://www.tarett.com/items/993-964-...plt-detail.htm

My experience with the Turbo was that parts never get cheaper so it's a matter of getting in quick for specialist items.

Yeah, that happens when you turn into a serial car seller.

Macca, transmission mounts for the 964 are also getting up there. $390 for the C4 and $530 for the C2. The more I buy the more I realise that Lola was a bargain with the suspension work done on her. To get a rebased 964 I think $100,000 would be a ball park I.e. To take Mark's new to him C2 through engine, gearbox, paint and suspension work would end up with a $100,000 car.
