Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?
Assumes Cayman is 150K+ landed grey market which I get a sense it will be and therefore is too rich for me (and infact Im falling more and more in love on this trip with the 991 breadth of capability, the sound and the handling of the 991 GT3 so feel less inclined to pay almost as much as I did for that car for something that will not perform as well and is not a 911). The last week Ive learnt more and more about driving the GT3 quickly on the road and its now starting to fit more like a glove. Im using only "manual" now and love the sound of banging the gears through, down especially into the meaty 4500-8500 rev band. Anyone whos driven with me will attest to how insane it sounds on the gas. Bloody brilliant or "mega" as Jethro B would say. No idea what tho....
It certainly is seeming that way right now. Fact is I haven't driven the 993 since September! However the weather was crap in July when I came over after the GT3 engine replacement, and September when we were over for NITT so this trip was always going to be "GT3 time". All of that said the 993 is a special place to be and I think on my return trip April-May (4 weeks) I will spend the majority of my time in the 993. I have the Targa Tour in May in the 993 and while Im away it will have road geo, MPSS tyres and softer settings applied all of which will make it more enjoyable for the road.....
Very lucky to have these problems as you say. Im trying to simplify my life. A single sports car and more room in storage would fit into that lifestyle perfectly. The 993 not only occupies space but also shelves and shelves of parts including seats. At some stage in 2015 I need to decide what to do I guess. Or maybe Ill do nothing. Who knows!
Or extend the Herman-Lola wars by opening a second front:

So what's a 993 like to drive - burgared if I know??
I can see car repainting is a 6 month exercise - CBNZ and the dude with the blue 993 where there for similar times (not complaining - just hanging to get my car back).........
At least it's keeping the mileage down.
Macca is the 993 coming tomorrow or are you going to play with Ron, Richard and Jon??
Given how well Jon can peddle a car (Bridgestone chap a few times) - I think we may get some interesting lap times (possibly.......)
I have been told by a PCNZ racer with a 997.2 GT3 RS they are good for circa 1.10 in road trim.
The new 991 GT3's must be high 1.08's in the right hands and set-up?

Those are dream numbers mate. No idea who's pedalling 7.2s around in the 10s but they aren't RSG caliber drivers sorry to say. The stock Gt3 rides on essentially road rubber though they call them dot rated but they are more like a glorified MPSS. Mine measured up 4mm today (half factory new) at 9000 kms half of which has been fast road work and two track days. I don't think I'll get more than another 2000 km fast road/touring and 1 track day out of them. If you wanted to see 108s you'd need better rubber than what's on there I reckon, and some skill and excellent familiarity of the track. I have non of the above so will live with a 113 then lol.
I spoke with Jon Paul. He said he may come and check it out but his car is in brake in miles and he hasn't entered the event so I don't think he will be driving with us tomorrow. It will be great when he brings it out tho. I'll invite Higgs and between them Nigel and John B we will have a Bridgestone revival all in techno GT3. RSG will become a time capsule for drivers and for cars LOL!! Interesting tho how some of the hardcore old guys gravitating towards the new GT3. Higgs and Jon are big time aircoolers like me/us. Will be interesting to get there take on the car after they have lived with it a while....
