Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

Yeah. Its priceless isnt it.
Actually Im not renewing my 911 & Porsche World sub when its due again in 18 months. Ive decide to draw a line in the sand. Im learning nothing reading these any more. I think they have run out of stuff to talk about, the journalism is fine but as much as Im sure Tippler is a great guy Im getting a bit tired of seeing a late middle aged man with an ear ring, eclectic dress sense and a trill-berry hat benignly driving a Porsche. Call me fussy. I think the interweb thingy has spoilt me.
Ill keep my EVO sub tho. Those guys write good copy and Bothrington is the next Harris IMO. He can drive.
Here is the latest (Speciale just won 2014 COTY and deservedly too IMO). This looks like our Taupo track day.

Talking of comets, those posting stats you gave us also have a pretty long tail and it all adds up. The aussie version of our thread stands at just 6 pages after 4 and a half years. https://rennlist.com/forums/rennlist...this-site.html
Maybe it was Macca's amazon army of lezbots that helped fire the early afterburners (latest abomination aside of course), but more likely it's because this idiotically long thread has encouraged many of us to get increasingly involved with our cars and each other over time, whether it be through tracking, racing, rebuilding, customising or whatever. And it obviously doesn't hurt to have the odd Macca, John, Paul (while not forgetting our Mikeys) to keep it all burbling on.
I suppose we could hook up some trans-Tasman booster cables and give our Aussie cousins a jump start, but I'm quietly looking forward to the day some of them travel stateside ... and on saying they're from Sydney or Melbourne, are asked what it's like to live in New Zealand.
Back to Porsche content. Love this pic - like peeking into Santa's trove:

I hope it sells at that price, but I doubt it as the 3.3 has yet to see the (irrational) demand the Turbo 3.6 is seeing, which is where they're coming from in talking about Piston Heads. The NZ market is thin and an offshore buyer will need to pay a lot of duty to get it to the UK.

Yeah. As much as I believe these are relatively undervalued I think Max at Toy Shop has been smoking too much crack on this one. They sell 55-65K GBP in UKs elevated market for a good one (UK new, RHD etc). Market value in NZ is probably 70-80K.

Good on Andrew Higgins for offering these experiences, and I'd turn up if someone had bought me the ticket but I can't say that going 3 up in an F1 car is on my bucket list. Didn't get excited about the 2-seater Dallara that was doing the same thing either.
It would probably be a brilliant roller coaster ride and I'm curious about the laptimes (should be fairly quick) but no roller coaster is worth that to me.
Thank heaven our own laps aren't that expensive (the odd partial one aside maybe - I got close in torrential Taupo).

If it was a Sultan car with delivery miles - fair enough - but not this one............

Good spotting. That is an eagle eye! A detail would bring that blue out really nicely.

Is this your old car Bob? Why did they stop offering the Iris Blue? I still think it's a beautiful colour for a 911.
