Need to find a buyer for the 993 and JMc would need to give an 'RSG' discount.

Not liking my chances.............

Neil, when the Turbo 3.6 was at Jon Pottinger's shop about 10 years ago I recall him saying he was resurrecting a crashed 993 Targa. This car was talked about when I was at CCS and confirmed as the same car. They aren't hiding the history, but it's something to check for.

Cheers Pete - let you know how I get on.

Less than 50% confident of getting it back by Xmas.

It's been given a good nudge - but the seals and rubbers etc have only just left the States.

It's been "untouched" according to Motorscience.

Neil - you are used to driving cars with 400hp - so anything with only 300hp will feel slow..........

By the way - talking to someone in the know, a 997.2 RS will do 1.10's in road trim and tires at HD, so Macca - your GT3 should be good for 1.08-09 in the right hands.

I wonder if Earl did some timed hot laps in the 991 GT3 he was using for driver training?

Paul, you need to let it go These cars are moving out of our league.

I laughed when Doug said he was too worried to drive it, but now I'm thinking the same way. I'll drive it to work tomorrow just because I can, but I'll still be watching every muppet around me.

Are there two 993 Targas for sale? Dean had a customer interested in it, that when I heard the discussion.

I was very wary of the power drop when going in to look at the 964 last weekend, but was pleasantly surprised when behind the wheel. I test drove a 993 Targa last year; was sitting on Great North for a few months outside a small dealership. Quite liked it but was a bit rough. Unsure what happened to it, think seller wanted about $45k.

As an aside, the auction on that WB has been pulled so assume it sold. Interesting unanswered questions on condition, clearly not everyone had green tinted lenses. https://trademe.co.nz/813879426

Excellent condition was an exaggeration but I suspect the person knows very little about 964s and what purpose does it serve putting that back in a question on the auction? Sounds like he/she was outbid. No wonder Trademe is known as Tardme to the younger set. Hard to believe this is the reaction to the same seller that let you drive the car to Warkworth.
