$125,000 to avoid time wasters....and buyers!

Cant be many in the world with so few Kms on the clock but $100 viewing fee? What's with that!

More comparable 60's performance here of course:

Handily quicker to 100, bit lower top speed. You could have one for each day of the working week and still have change...

Great video, very well scripted and presented. If I had a cheeky mil to spare I'd be ordering one today.

You have great taste Walt. That Elan has been on and off my watch list a few times this year. Reason has intervened many times and prevented me from calling the owner. I was also on the verge of buying an SS Camaro after losing the 997TT auction. Don't think I'm cool enough to own an E Type...

Fresh paint.
Nice and shiny. The turning point in the build.

That Elan just looks wonderful! Good clue to how Dave's will turn out in that great colour.

Looking good Dave. Early 2015 delivery to your place for interior fit?

Well I hope so. I imagine that the hard work has been done and now it is just the task of refurbishing the mechanicals and getting them back in there. I'm not after a concourse finish underneath but a good standard at least.
The further I get into the interior the more i realise that I need the car at my place. I've gone about as far as I can go without it.
It could be that we get it together and running and complied with just the basics in terms of interior and then I set to work on it with no time pressures.

Sensible plan. Might also save you pulling the custom interior apart again to show someone some welds.

I would say it's Ian's 912.

Ultimately the market will decide if he has priced the car correctly...........

I kinda hope it sells within a week as we will be in awe......(and turn into instant bonnet polishers - too afraid to use our cars)

RHD and NZ new does add a LOT of value (you are talking only a handful of NZ new Porsches back then - 5 or 6 a year) - it's just finding the buyer who sees the value over similar value Pcar alternatives........

Another way of looking at the equation is would pay $139K for the black targa at CCS with non-original box and colour - starting life as an orange sportmatic (which significantly hurts investment value) or $125K for an orange coupe with manual box. Both are Sunday driver - bonnet polishing cars that are slow by today’s standards.

The market has spoken on the black targa (it's still for sale.............)

Both cars side by side - I'd probably take the 912 due to coupe, original box and easier colour to keep clean.

Personally for a Sunday shiner - I'd prefer a 356 @ $100K - but that is just me............

Maybe Ian is on the money........??

Dave - looks like you are not going to be losing money on your car anytime soon (do you still have the original engine and box?)
