Johns. Its YHI in Wellington. Jamie has good contact there may give "club discount", looking into that. The performance difference has repeatedly been stated by various 993/996 track users at 2.0s on a 2 min course vs R6 & Z214 soft (the 214 is fairly common in USA). As we know/suppose the Z214 is at least 1.0s a lap faster than the Z221 soft so the difference over the NT01 and the Z221 at HD should be in the order of 0.5s which is very minimal given they do not heat cycle and last twice as long as a Z214 from other experience...and come in a good range of sizes...all good news for 964/993 RSGers...

Let's find some fat wheels, roll the fenders and stick the MPSSs on from my 964.

It is therefore not a competitive 2k Cup car, the Vtecs and 20 valves will blitz past you on the back straight. It won't be super slow and should still be quite reliable but I think you'd be missing quite a trick not getting one with one of the greatest 4 cylinder engines ever made.
We could probably buy and install a Vtec engine for less than $2K.........

Looks like they came on 195/60 R14 or 195/55 R15 as standard sizes. Will be interesting to see what it has on it.

Walter is running the NT01's (I believe).

CCS sell the NT01's too. I was talking to them about tyre options when I first purchased the 993. They were trying to sell me on the NT05's.......

The next question is whether they are considered road legal (like a 221).

Enter Matt...............??

Yes, deal is done with the Honda. We paid $800 today and will call in tomorrow with the remaining $1,000. Car should be in Dave's yard by tomorrow lunch time.

Based on the confirmations we have a pot of $2,600. Car is $1,800. Dave has already set out some basic maintenance. That may eat up to $400 with pads, disc skim, fluids (brake, oil and coolant). Next big bill will be tyres, but that can wait as the existing ones have plenty of tread.

Famous last words, but the car seemed solid, so I'm not sure how much we'll need to manage usage.

David is likely going to drive it down to HD on 19/7, if no-one wants to take it out before that. It can go to Chris M's place after that, or if stuck, then we can leave it outside the seller's garage (next to Steve's one at HD).

Like the Sprints, I think good organisation works itself out. If the car's sitting there with no one else interested, take it out. If you've already set a time, let someone else go first. If you've used it on the day, chuck something in for petrol to fill it up. The important thing is to have fun.

Haha well its all go with the Honda then, that's going to provide the entertainment for the next 50 pages on this thread. Well done. I'm too far away to join too

Gearbox is slick someone said earlier - just needs a little care to preserve the life here as maybe that's the weak link if there is one.

If we can find a mule, it would be great to get this car on the NITT. Then we'd happily take your money at Manfield

^^^^^^^^^^ That car is was just simply stunning - what could have been (RS Boxster??)

I own a model of this car - the only model I have purchased in about 20 years.........

Also the inspiration for the 'Macca Mobile'..........

I wonder if anyone had tired to make a real one??

I've been thinking about it. Helga comes home on Tuesday and will have her sills done next weekend. After that I just need her alignment done and she's ready to start some road trips. However, Tonga kills two weekends in July and we have the Sprints on 3/8 so this may be the first chance. Not sure I want to push her on a Ron run though, especially with Donna in the car.
