Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

That's what this car obsession has done to my budget. Gymkhana in the Mitre 10 car park followed by a family lunch at the $2 sausage stand.

This seller may be optimistic but I think the backdate craze will die from lack of reasonably priced donor cars. I think your approach is far more convincing. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...--1990/2358382

Coffee stop on one of my favourite drives. The 964 is nothing like as good/fun to drive as my 07 Boxster S which, as Paul knows, you can just throw at the road while enjoying a symphony of sound from 4,000 up emerging from right behind you. But the 964's metallic engine sound, the smell, the classic agricultural feel, the waves, light flashes and conversations with strangers make the whole experience something else. Thankfully they're both unique experiences. Must be why I obsess over both?

After spending 4 weeks in the GT3 I was quite worried about how Id feel in the 993. Initially I got in the 993 and drove it and was disappointed. It creaked, the chassis felt like it flexed alot, the gear change wasnt the best (ok it wasnt working 100% either), the power was underwhelming and the cockpit was dated and the seats less compliant. 5 days later taling it to storage all that was forgotten and I was loving how crisp the steering was, how agricultural the MT and the sound on acceleration. Id even forgotten the ergonomic tragedy that is the interior.
A few weeks after getting home I was hankering after the GT3 again. The stiffness of the chassis, the incredible turn in and front end grip, the sound of that engine from 7000+ up (the 993 stops at 7000rpm!), the auto blipping on downshift (saves synchros didn't you know LOL!), the immense power and startling revelation when I drove it that I couldnt feel a single electronic gubbin at work until at least a week through the journey when I had a few sideways moment son a mossy damp cold cambered corner. Its was the biggest surprise that apart from the steering which didnt have as much feel as the older cars the car felt 100% "organic" like my 993 with only ABS to its acronym list. Never even noticed the RWS apart from the fact it turned in so quick (felt like a much shorter wheelbase car). The clutch at idle even grumples and rattles louder than the 993 with a LWFC. Theres no creep in the box so you can roll backwards in neutral like a manual. It wont change up for you on paddles so you can bounce the redline (did that changing down instead of up - despite what they say you can stuff up a paddle shift if youve never driven one and have momentarily forgotten which paddle is for up and which is for down!).
I think these two cars are so different that you shouldnt compare them. The Boxster vs the 964 would be a similar comparo. They each have their major attractions.
Yes I think a Cayman would be a worthy successor to the Boxster but you may not find yourself driving the 964 as often after that. The Cayman R looks particularly attractive, and Im quietly hoping those "GT3 Cayman" spy photos are really R protos in camo. One last naturally aspirated MT (too late for electric steering its already there unfortunately) performance Cayman before you are forced to eat your pork with snails would be nice....

Congrats! Best bit is it's already flat, so no worries if you drive over it.
Awesome day at Pukekohe practice in Chris's 944 yesterday with Stu Owers instructing Pete and I. Picked up some great tips and some good time improvements. Best value for money in going faster, Stu was awesome.
And now off to sit the license test...

No, because if he did that would mean a 'porsche less' disqualification
