Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?
I was in the bay as a boy. Stanton was a regular Friday night visit for me after work. I actually do recall that new 924, it was red, right? The showroom was odd, down 11th ave. In about 85 Feo's son Nathan started up as a BMW dealer. My old man took one of the first deliveries, a 2 door 323i. He only had it a year, he must have forgot he had 4 kids when he ordered it, we had to squash in that one. Nathan Stanton had a quite new red 930 turbo on the floor for a bit in about 86 /87, that just blew my mind.
There was another sports car dealer on Cameron Rd (can't remember the name), but he had a brand new 964 C4 - can you remember that.
Speaking of memory lane, this must be around 1990, Mum in the Carrera 3.2 Targa:
I hated the fact it was a Targa and didnt have the awesome rear side window. They did make money on that car when they sold it 3-4 years later.

Mega build wow. Bad to read to much of this because it just fires us all up - could be more than 400k given all the custom one off carbon body work and its complete bottom up build.
And the last bit - some problem on the first outing at Watkins Glen this weekend so can't run and what does he do? why not, go buy another race car.

Maybe - there were 2 in the showroom, a narrow body and a wide body.
Nice pic of the targa mate. I remember that car, it's an off white / coffee colour. I haven't seen for sale in years......
John - I agree with your sentiments - what people forget is they were as expensive as a house in the 70's and 80's. I can't compare against wages of the time, but a late model 911 would be the equivalent of $500K now if bench marked against property. Luckily cars haven't really gone up in value, otherwise I'd still be limited to taking photos.......

Where did he purchase the Targa from? And around what year? When I was really little (1984/85ish) Dad one (same colour and a Targa) on the yard. I recall going to the beach with mine and my brothers mean as Polystyrene surfboard sticking out the hood which was bungy tied down, haha!
