Only had them on the rears so far. Don't squeal...yet.

GBP 99 per axle from Design 911. Given the $400 GST trigger I ordered other items to defray the freight of GPB 32 and did it in 2 goes. Autoquip at Penrose can get them in with a 2 week advance order. NZD 257 per axle.

BTW the OEM pads I took off the front were half worn. Not overly happy with that as I had maybe 3 track days on them.

John. Its because you are starting to use them now. Those front rotors in the 964 get very warm. As you get quicker you may want to plumb in your brake cooling ducts and stock up on pads!

Not sure it works the way I thought it would. I need to see it in natural light. Need a working alternator to do that. Hopefully mobile by Saturday.

At least Rob showed me how to loop the sensor wire and change my own pads. Getting good at it. Sounds like I will need that skill.

John. That's great to know. You can do mine too ;-). Ill have to take a spare set of OEM on SITT.

Here's Rothsports recommendation for the 993. This is there 400 bhp version (104 race fuel, no air con) 100+ race hour engine. Street version is 380 bhp with air con on 98. Intake plenum is custom built (based on factory 993 RSR), runs ITBs (they do a slide valve version too). MOtec M82. They have been putting these in a number of 964 race cars in the states. The Torque is strong (similar to 997.1 GT3).

Lotto win stuff.

I think it looks sharp & that the rear height lines up with the panel gaps.

They sure are - some interesting posts here: http://www.rennsportkc.com/?s=Dragon

I think the trick will be if we can fab exhaust to hide the v8 sound.

First thing I noticed is that the decal is larger than the previous one, so had some fun lining the letters up. Still I'm getting so much practice at decals that I'm pretty quick so don't begrudge the possibility I'll take them off again soon. It's only $75 per set.

John - IMHO remove the Carrera decals - it just looks too busy.

Macca - so when are you pushing the button on a 380hp engine??

Err how much is "lotto win stuff" in dollars??

Macca, with your standards all I'll do is show you how. It would easy to mark the calipers. Not going there!

Waiting until I get my magnetic race numbers then I'll remove the number decal and see how it looks. You doing anymore Regularity trials? Or maybe super lap?

John. I preferred the red as I find the black too bland. However Id be inclined to take the number and carrera logo off and run it a while with neither and see if it grows on you...

I dont know Paul. Im waiting for my engine to need some top end work before attempting to justify it. I was hoping to get through the SITT and SI Targa events in the 993 this year and maybe NITT & Targa Tour next year before that becomes a reality. I would have 100k km on the engine at that stage (81K now). Ive always been disappointed with the current engine (cams and tune) and I think its running a bit lean on the track during warm weather, so that day could come sooner than later I guess. This time I would do it properly, crate the engine and ship without headers and exhaust to California along with 40l of our local 98 fuel using a hazmat cert. Rothsport have an engine dyno room (one of the best).

As for price its a smorgas board of cost. You could spend 65K USD for a 412bhp 4.0L slide valve electrnic ignition screamer (8300 rpm redline) but being a bit more sensible sticking with ITB, 3.9L, GT3 crank and oil pump, keeping driveability on pump gas and air con and electrical loads you are probably looking at 50K including tuning and dyno for something around 380bhp + 300lbft torque. Very durable race package too and they sound unbelievable. They have these in two of the 964 track cars known on the board and they look fun chasing down GT3s....

Of course with a lotto win that engine would be in the car alot sooner1

Doug - its white, they'll take an SUV trade but unfortunately its not an open top. Interesting alternative comparison for Spyder money though.
I believe that this GT3 was imported crashed by Emma Gilmour's Father who rebuilt it.

Doug, the 964 is on the move price wise. Depreciation = ZERO. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...-coupe/2022659
