Hi John.
The handbrake leaver and gear **** are not aftermarket they are Porsche Exclusive. You will see similar/same in my interior attached.
The underneath of that car need a clean!
The shock covers are Bilstein. Im guessing it has B6/HD shocks which is a good start. The springs are IMO factory Porsche hence the ride height. Progressive springs will lower it and improve asthetics and handling.

Drop the car into Peter Alder to find if there is a possibility to move lower with those springs and struts. My guess is that there is a little but the spring will be the ultimate limiting factor. Currently your ride height appears very high, possibly a result of mixing a factory height spring with a newer shock...welcome to P car fiddling!

Have a look at the attached - not sure if these are H&R Reds? Any idea? I've always thought mine were but looking back through the receipts they were also fitted at Powerhaus (about 10 years ago).

edit: interesting search on rennlist on the part number brings up this old post... looks like they may not be H&R after all...

No these are not H&R (H&R are purple and have their logo on them). I would go only with a proven solution as the money is in the labour to install and align. much debate on RL 964 board but H&R seem to get the best overall rap.

H&R references the "Reds" as Part #29834, Sport Springs for Porsche 964 Turbo (965) and RS-A.
BTW, Bilstein HDs are fronts - Part #VE3-5277HO (left) and #VE3-5278HO (right), and rears - Part #B46-1735.

Factory use black non progressive springs. Once John cleans those up I think unless there are aftermarket markings that's what he had. But his shocks look like B6/HD...
Getting the shocks/springs right is important. Also having the shocks tested to make sure they don't need servicing or re valving is important of you dont know how long they have been on the car etc. The cost to install and set up shocks and springs with a full kinematic (993) alignment runs over $1000. Ive done it twice plus some further tweaking and I can say this is the biggest deterrent to making a mistake. Unless you are doing the work yourself Peter would be a good first step. Hell tell you what you need to buy so you can order it and get everything in country before he strips anything down.
The 964 C4 I believe has a heavier nose than the C2 and thus spring rates for the front should be carefully chosen. For your application could be worth looking at the H&R springs for the America RS/Turbo. Have a good look on this board - give preference to those in UK with experience as I find their roads and expectations more similar to ours...

Just watched Love The Beast. Interesting peek into what a Targa is like, and although a Porsche isn't the focus of the film they do feature quite regularly. Well worth a watch.

When I heard the title I thought it might have been one of those dodgy top shelve DVDs. I dont need any more of them LOL! Then I looked it up on IMDB and the story sounds compelling enough for a car nut like me! Infact it sounds like a car nut like me!!! Thanks for the heads up. Ill find a place for it next to Grand Prix, Bullet, Le Mans, Jo Siffert - Live Fast Die Young, Ronan etc in the library!
Have a great weekend!

Back from the wedding and i see that as usual you guys have advanced the knowledge base.
This morning I reshod the other half at 277, setting the stage for the new wheels. I need to get them in quickly to make the 29th with a new setup but its looking possible.
Paul, you're welcome to take the C4 out for a couple of the runs on the 29th. It will give me a base to adjust my times for driver competence.
