1 Dec is good for me. Decide venue when we know what the weather's doing.

I'm picking that 24th is going to be mainly dry. Will be there regardless.

Been thinking about the SITT and......
I've been harvesting a few videos showing the roads we'll be travelling. This one is a must watch.... I think it may be my favourite NZ road (after Takaka Hill, after Maungakahia Valley, after.....)

This scenery is amazing.

(Macca - it's one of those compressed videos, ie it only shows every 100? frames or so, so you get to see a lot of road in a short amount of download)

PS needed to get back to looking at road trips and driving instead of dreaming of an old bucket of trouble I can't afford :-)

Once the old stuff gets on your head you sort of have to scratch the itch sooner or later then time will tell whether you get to like the tradeoffs compared to modern machinery. but in my view not worth racing the old stuff - social track days or road drives is about as far as I would go as it gets too expensive if genuinely pushing the limits.

Hi guys, I'm envious of your SI tour + SI Targa next year. ChCh to Otago is a lot of straight lines until Dunedin or Omarama but a gem of a B road is Geraldine to Fairlie (see this vid) - the first 10k's out of Geraldine is a series of short straights but then classic rolling hill country - fast driving and drops into Fairlie at the last minute. Did it when back in NZ several months ago & almost tempted to turnaround & do it twice again !

Also checked out Highland Park which is an amazing new-build, in a great setting surrounded by mountains & vineyards. Beware typical speed-traps between Fairlie & Cromwell - roads are empty, so when you least expect it ........

Otherwise, Amberly to Picton (via Lewis Pass, Murchison, Motueka Valley, Nelson & Queen Charlotte Drive) must rate as one of the worlds best sporting & scenic drives. Will be doing it twice in December and can't wait

Nice to see you here. Yes the SI is a wonderful drive and we are looking forward to it. The central North Island has some excellent windy driving roads too but the back drop scenery isn't as spectacular...

You are right John and 200Km Id say that's the case. At first glance looks like they are masking up the black trim and gaps to give it a quick and cheap blow over. Hope not...

8 months ago I would just see opportunity. Assuming a lot, but now all I see is deferred expense.

Thats my one, was just a cut and polish then Duraseal. In at Motorscience now getting some cup 1's and stance sorted.

The paint was pretty dull with a truckload of small scratches, Final Touch did a great job.

Pel. Phew! That makes total sense now. Looks like they are doing it properly then. Looks like you have a good NZ new example. If I recall it had some top end work down before you bought it? Make sure you post pictures when its all good to go. John and others on here can point you in the right direction for anything C4 you might need to know....

Pel, I have unwillingly become all too well educated in 964 C4 mechanics. I'm also building up a fair set of spares. Some new, some used.

Right now I'm in the final build stage. A $35,000 car will soon owe me $70,000!

Great cars, don't regret the spend to date but I hope your experience is less costly. Feel free to ask for help.
