This looks the business and is SAFE

Porsche 996 GT2 Clubsport in as new condition, originally with fully adjustable suspension, ROP cage, light weight package, bucket seats, 3 and 6 point seatbelts, factory fine tuned engine, limited slip diff.... Wonderful to drive, most responsive and safe super car money can buy.

I think this is a bargain at $26K ono. Surely a good starting point for a project car (Steve's 964 started life as a tipo)

I've read a few times that tippo to manual conversions are notoriously difficult aka expensive and problematic. Steve's done only 1 I believe and I wonder if he'd recommend a repeat. Much better to start with a manual?

Macca, so quiet without you. Is the GT3, you and your wife all still in one piece? You owe us a report :-)

I was thinking of leaving as a tipo (for the first few years anyway)

I have a v8 shopping basket towing p-car tippo. The only thing I don't like is the lack of a manual box and the driving enjoyment that brings. The rest of it is great. Old tippos seem to have little market / resale / appreciation from what I've seen?

Saying that Pete seems to like the idea of a tippo for his DD Cayman S desire. Wouldn't be my choice and I use my boxster manual in heavy Auckland traffic as a DD and still prefer it over a tippo box. PDK is a different argument tho Pete and if your after a DFI cayman auto aren't they all gen 1 PDK which has software that's not nearly as good as the 991/981 PDK which is apparently a big leap forward in responsiveness/fun. #ramdomrambling

Yes, I discussed conversions with Steve, he recommended C4 to C2 conversion rather than C2 tip to C2 manual. All C4s manual and C4 has some good bits not on C2.

Yep - definitely only considering PDK. Have had 964 & 993 tips in the past. Didn't like the 964 so much and very seldom used it in manual mode but the 993 was noticeably better with shifters on the wheel.

Hard thing is actually getting to try a gen 1 PDK as none for sale in NZ. Which has me coming back around to the potential of a manual...

That white 964 does seem good value though with a rebuild. What sort of project are you talking Paul? Getting carried away with all that garage space?

I'm not so sure, judging from the photos you spend 2/3rds of the time trying to keep it on the black stuff?

Stuck in a European prison, driver's licence gone?

Or perhaps the grin is so big that it's forced his eyes closed and he can't see to type?

Whatever it is, hope there's a report soon

I thought in Porsche circles they got the nickname "widowmaker"? From getting bought by wealthy but inexperienced drivers. Looks amazing and I bet it drives amazingly well. I think I'd be a little scared of it myself... Not trusting myself to hold back enough

Simply beautiful.............
