Prestigio for insurance. Its a full policy however they will cover track events organised my RSG & Playdays as long as certain conditions are met (Pete can confirm but I believe you need to have attended some formal driver training, less than 15 cars on the track, must be a road car with WOF etc). The price of the policy seems to be in line with other providers.

The guy in the last photo with the cap and jacket is David of the time measurement fame. To loose or gain a David at an RSG meeting is "a coupla seconds"....

And a 'Macca' is a 10th of a 'Dave'.

Yes. I think on the average RSG track day most with experience will find a Macca is much harder to find than a Dave....

Dave's are expensive to get, hard to keep and easily lost.
Macca's on the other hand, come easy.

In the RSG, you will notice Dave's and Macca's commonly getting the blame for an individuals poor performance

Just on Prestigo. We never really got an indication on when you have met the minimum requirements to be covered. The answer when I signed up to Prestigo was no, even though I'd done a lot of driver training and track work etc but it was too long ago. I enquired about my status again recently and they confirmed that I am now covered on the back of this years RSG track days and giving Ray a couple of rides. Might pay to confirm your status to be sure.

Does anyone on here know the history of this car? This is one I grew up dreaming of owning one day - drop dead gorgeous.

Agreed, nice and rare car. It has a 3.2 Carrera Steering wheel and rev limiter?

I would have thought well priced at $35K too.

Would be a good starting point for a wide body hot rod (Shaun....)

Evening All!

It's been several months since my last post about heading to New Zealand, and the time has literally come. Today our household was boxed up and tomorrow it will be loaded into into a 40' container. Occupying the last 15' will be the trusty 964, which I'll drive onto the container Friday.

Unfortunately it's been a continual issue of being overcapacity, so I haven't been able to extend an invitation to the forum of any space for gear, which I regret. As of today things look good, we have our contingency list & tomorrow we'll know the verdict.

Our arrival into Auckland is the 27th of this month and amazingly the container is scheduled to arrive the 22nd Dec. Anyone familiar with how long household goods shipments take to clear customs these days?

I have been busy getting as much done to the 964 before leaving as I can:

New wheels & tires (or tyres now!)
Fresh pads & discs
Replaced windshield
RS Door panels
Updated seats
RS carpet - in the bag in the back!
Brake ducts & RS splitters - to be fitted.

As Macca & all have been discussing - one car to do it all is my goal here too, inspired by those like Jack Olsen.

I'm looking forward to meeting many of you in the coming months after following along the alternatingly useful and entertaining posts.

Goodnight,
Christopher

Look forward to meeting you finally Chris when you hit Godszone. Looks like a lovely hot rod 964 C4 to join the RSG group. Love the dual exhausts and the OZ wheels. Why don't you join us for Xmas drinks.

John/Paul have we got a venue or anything happening for 01 Dec Sunday arvo drinks?

Venue for the 1st is TBA depending on weather - if fine then probably viaduct or britomart area if that suits everyone. Or swashbucklers for a cheap lion red and a plate of seafood!

Chris - you'd be most welcome as well. Need to get you out either for the 15th at Hampton Downs or 27th at Pukekohe. Jan that is.
