Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

Would it run on Windows 8? Some of my staff are using MS tablets with the keyboard docks, works very well for them. I'm using an HP Envy for work, seems well balanced in terms of power vs portability.

I've got a Samsung series 8 with Windows 8 - will be loading on that and let you know how it goes. Hopefully fast!

Software looks fine just no files to load. Might need to go and sift through junk folder as nothing rec'd yet. Couldn't work out how to create a profile though.
No worries though - Paul will have it sorted by now I'm sure...

This guy's view of his 911 really encapsulates my own view of my 993 and what it means to me. Great video and have always loved his garage! Video Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gC5-MoDUuRg

Just in the process of checking out a set of track rims for the 996TT (thanks Chris). My current thought is that I'll use the 996TT for the SITT and some track days (when I can punt the C4 around HD @ < 1.20.00!) Tyre choice is coming down to Toyo 888 and Z221. The Toyo's are USD 1,024 ex Tire rack. Add freight and GST and fitting and I think a set will be close to the cost of a fitted set of medium Z221s (listed on Trademe). Given the long road use and likely wet track use the Toyo's may have the edge, however are the Toyo's known for wet grip?

From what I've read (take it with a grain of salt) the R888's are ok in the wet, but don't perform well if there's a lot of standing water (does anything?).

Toyo's are the best wet weather track tire by miles. Although they are a second slower than a say the Hankook's or RE55S's, they would be my tire of choice on the SITT if you weren't tailoring down a set.
Toyo 888's are the default tire on my car for the road and causal track days.

On another note, can any of you recommend someone in Auckland for paint and/or interior work?
I took a trip to Wellington recently and a rock left a small dent, which will be the catalyst for a general tidy up of the exterior (all very minor stone chips and scratches, and a paint chip on a door edge where someone opened it into a wall...). It also has a few very minor scratches on the seats, but I want to sort them before they get any worse.
John, you passed on the recommendation of Vintrim, but after searching for info on them I found a liquidation notice for the company so guessing they're no longer around.

John, for a long while I had the same twist with three porkers. Well 2.5 really (Audi/Porsche RS2 + 993RS then GT3 then 968 etc and always of course 993 C2). I think this was in the 4 years 2002 - 2006 when you were offshore in Fiji & Malaysia. Each to his own but eventually you may tire of having three, fiscally at least, and also logistically and I found maintaining them all to my standard to be a really mental pressure. Doesn't help being a Virgo!
The R888s will work out the same if not more than Z221s which are better tyres from what I read. We are going down in summer and the Z221s are fine in the wet ay you and I know. A set of mediums will get you down and back but definitely no more life than that. You may also need to buy and have fitted some Endless (suggest MX72) pads for your 996TT for the track as it will struggle with brakes on standard pads I suspect. They are around $850 a set and need ordering from Japan, I have just ordered a set from Mike at Prosport (thanks Pete) for my future brake upgrade. I also purchased a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports for road tyres via tyre rack. They were really amazing price at $924 a set of 235/275 18s.
So if you start beating 1.20s in the C4 you will take the 996TT? But if you are getting so proficient in the 964 why not take it and enjoy it as it would be alot more fun to drive on the track and of course its fun to add an experience to the car you are most likely to keep the longest no? Ive never driven a tipo 996TT on the track so its probably not fair of me to say, I can see the touring benefits but we will be braking the trip down up anyhow. From a reliability standpoint I think by then (if not now) the 964 will be a much more known quantity (the 996TT will have almost 200km on it right?).k
P.S. I know you said you were finished with spending money on the C4 but do get the shockies checked and some new springs, also re bushed and checked over maybe some new Geo settings more suited to R compounds. Ive just made some minor changes to the 993 suspension which has apparently made further improvements (according to Dean) for the settings on the NITT which were massive improvements from HD day. For these cars its all about chassis, handling and poise not power. It will certainly make it easier to get to 1.20 and increase confidence in the car and these are not expensive changes (cheaper than the set of classic buckets seats - which by the way I also think you should still keep on the list!).
