Martini engine is a 3.0RS if the entry listing for Targa is accurate.
The Targa winning 997 gt3 RS is not as heavily modified as the Gavin Riches car that entered last year (which had a cup sequential box) but still a pretty serious piece of kit. Also well driven by Dippie and a great result - well deserved.

Good spotting John. Just a note, from experience and research it would take well over $1500 to tidy those up and make them work with new piston kits, repaint, logo, custom adapter brackets etc. Ive been doing alot of homework on this as Ive decided to upgrade my brakes when the current discs/pads need replacing...

Id love to see some of the guys from OZ come back, Jim Richards etc, plus Jason White in his Lambo. Even Chris Harris who was meant to come last year but didnt.
I also wonder if next years event will be anything special being the 20th ann of the event.

Speaking of Trademe, I'm interested to see that what looks like a good RSG candidate (1992 C4) has pretty much sold to the first viewer. A lot of car for $33,000. There's still relative bargains out there. The McRae doesn't look too shabby either.

Yes 20th year Targa NZ will be an event I am told and we will see the return of some famous offshore names that have attended previously.
Nick why don't you join us for the HB leg of the tour? We will have a small RSG contingent (approx 10 RSG members will attend - 4 hopefully from the regular group that hang out here). It would be alot of fun.
John, agreed and thanks. I was just adding some information for anyone with thoughts of bolting those well heat cycled 6 pot fronts and 4 pot onto their 964 or 993. Apart from all the costs getting the brake bias right would be a nightmare without a change of proportioning valve (guess work required).

Hi Guys
I need a couple of items for my 993 Targa.
Just wondering if any of you who may have replaced the seats in your cars would have the following seat height adjusting parts lying around gathering dust:
The rear lifting gear mechanisms and also the rear height adjustment cables for a 993 or 964.
(The front lifting mechanisms are "identical opposites" so they would be fine if the rear are unavailable.)
NB.These are the same part numbers for 964 and 993 ....and I think maybe for the 944 and 928.
Lifting gear part numbers:
LR - 928 521 722 03
RR - 928 521 721 03
Cables:
LR - 928 521 673 05
RR - 928 521 674 05
I can add a parts diagram if you're unsure of what I'm referring to.
Cheers
Bob.
