I have ditched the idea of a 73 RSR build in favour of another 964 I can thrash in Targa classic 2WD next year. I'm not sure that this car is the right starting point for that though, buying a roller as is where is for $80k is pretty risky. I'm currently looking in the US on the assumption there isn't too much here. EDIT: too much here that can be had for the same price as what you can get out of the US.

Because I'm such a freakin train spotter, I can tell you that this car was for sale in Feb 07 for $77.5k at 110 k's and Feb'12 for $75k at 113k's. Doesn't get out much.

Another point with the cup car is the value in the 4 sets of wheels. Speed lines are going for big dollars. Wouldn't imagine mag cup wheels are cheap either. Maybe $25,000 + in rims there.

Finally decided on an exhaust system for the GT3: Cargraphic Lightweight Motorsport mufflers and X-Pipe with race cat. 20kg lighter than the standard system and worth 15hp. M&M headers (also in attached shot) and a tune on the list for later.

Yup - more of a re-creation than a recreation... I suspect.
