Yes. What i liked about it also was it wasn't perfect. It looked old but cared for. Not a garage queen but loved and used.

I now have two seats and a harness bar. Very happy. Bring on the sweeper!

LOL! Good fighting words but well within your capability John. Maybe being strapped in you'll feel a bit more invincible and can carry more speed into turn 1 before laying the picks on and getting that car into abs! Its silly they are illegal to use on NZ main roads, in the Targa tour those with harnesses were no allowed to use them. Go figure. Having mine fitted to the GT3 next week before its shipped so they dont get nicked from the trunk but not really looking forward to them in the car when Im driving on the road as they get in the way a bit.

Looks like Steve did a good job with that harness bar and fitting the seats. So I take it that's another 4-5K to add to the 70K car spend. Goes quickly eh. I think it was money well worth spending this time around. Good work.

Those old longhoods do look good. I have pictures of two in Europe we spotted. Issue as explained to me by a local French Porsche collector is that they are soon to be so valuable tht only the truly wealthy collectors will drive them. Guys like us on this NZ board will be too afraid to take them for a wizz when they are worth 400k and we cant get insurance for more than cars and coffee. Spoils the whole point if you ask me. Been there already with a few collectible items (cars, watches, books etc) and I cant handle the mental pressure. Rather know its not irreplaceable myself. Im looking for the next 911 you dont have to stress over originality or getting T boned at the lights. Maybe the 964 Carrera? Should take to Dave!

John. Im feeling the pressure mate! I x HD session to my name and Ive gone 991 GT3 in the hopes of putting in a 1.12 next time to ensure the distance is so great that you give up and stop LOL! Seriously though by the time that GT3 actually gets to HD you may well be the guy Im chasing!

Macca, I have a strong self preservation gene. If I didn't, then rummaging in Steve's wreck warehouse today would be enough to bring some sanity to the situation. As Doug will testify I can sort of keep up for turns 2 though 8 now so it isn't impossible to see a high 1:20 just by conquering turn 10 and that's where I will start. Turn one will click into place when I see how many G I can pull in turn 10. Baring suspension work I'm pretty much finished now. No need to remove the sunroof as my helmet no longer touches the headliner.

I haven't purchased a faster car.... I reckon my c3 is a faster car than the 993, the 933 has much better brakes and is quicker once over 150kph, but on a tight and twistie road my c3 has better low end acceleration........

So the 993 would be slower than the C3 around HD? I'm not sure of the exact times, but I think Steve's time in my C4 still bests the fastest recorded time in the C3, which would make it king. Maybe need to load the C4 up to even the pace

I think my fastest time ever is 1.19.15. But this is with me driving. Steve may well be a second quicker??

A 993 is as quick as a 964 c2, so may only be a 1.18 with tires and suspension sorted??

I (in my naivety) would have expected the 993 to be quicker with its improved suspension design and other improvements. Or are you saying thatt after both are optimised for the track they're equal rather than factory spec

What was Steve's best time in your C4? I'd like to know what he could do in mine to understand my potential improvement before resorting to the slippery slope :-)

I can just see us relating cars differing performance in terms of plus and minus a steve or two LOL
