Hi guys, over in Sydney for the weekend, while the other half was shopping I went and checked this place out, if you're ever here with an hour to kill it's well worth a look, the owners are lovely too.

John. You'll no doubt remember all the famous dress up parties in Vila. Heres Jo and I with our "gimp" in our Halloween "Mexican Day of the Dead" op shop ensemble from last weekend. Was a very good/late night!

drove past the scene about 12 cars later - as you might imagine the car was a long way off the road and being taranaki back country it wasn't flat pastureland either. That R35 is an immensely strong car and Clark had a full FIA cage installed - unlike Harry's car with part of the side bars boltin/out.

trouble is its hard to find a shell. Factory parts are expensive. cheaper to buy a second hand import and transfer all the good parts and keep the production parts for spares

Actually reminds me I did see Steve R at the Otorohanga Lunch break on Day 1. Here is a pic of Kelly Silverthorn's 3.0RS. Pretty nice for a race car - didn't manage to talk to Steve after he had given it the once over as we had too many problems with engine/radiator

John. Its really good to have a benchmark lap like that driven by someone with experience like Steve, as it not only gives the driver a benchmark to aim at in the skills department, but also shows what the car is capable of with its current settings when driven well... Id imagine RSG would probably be a bit tame for someone like Kevin C LOL! Did you get any better than 1.23 today?
Went out to a restaurant straight after Halloween so no time to dissect the various times. As for the day, Dave scored a 1:22.65 on a later session, but I was too far behind him and Paul to claim it as well. I think I have a plateau to breach later on.

Congrats to Dave too. Kevin wont have a problem recruiting from our group I suspect. Its effectively a "racers waiting room" for many I guess. I just want to learn my race craft, be fast and have some fun. I dont expect Ill do it enough to get bored with it either....
Graeme I admired Kellys 3.0RS race car last year. Its no garage queen thats for sure but theres nothing like watching a 911 in the heat of battle.
I cant wait for Targa next year. I cant imagine why more don't get into this. We are bloody lucky to still have one of the toughest tarmac rallys on the world still on our door step and alive in gods own! Wont last forever as the nannies will kill it eventually and then it will be young racers folklore and urban myth. Get in an grab a slice of history I say before it becomes ashes in the wind like so many of our other enjoyable pursuits....

While you were out having fun on the track I was feasting my eyes in the Porsche Museum. Missing driving tho as it's coming up for 3 weeks away. Looking isn't nearly as much fun although the museum is pretty damn cool.

Doug. Great pics! I cant wait to heck out the new museum. Interesting picture of the 993 C2S. Its sporting speedline 18" wheels similar to mine (but not the 993 RS items). I assume they are factory fitment or else they wouldn't be on the display - which begs the questions this must have been a "special wishes" car. Interesting as first time Ive seen this (964 Cip 1) style three piece wheel on a sanctioned car other than one or two of the 14 x 993 single turbo cabriolets the factory made for a German dealer in 1994/5....

Take a look over at carsales.com.au
What's scary is how much the newer Turbo cars are going for...
