Thanks Doug. appreciated. Im back on the 6th Sept for 2 weeks....
Do you recall seeing if the interior Carbon RS style door panels have been fitted yet? I must call to find out - that turned out to be a huge job due to some factory changes to the inner door workings from the 964 to the 993....
Yes coming together now. Will be a totally different car to drive with the new geo, suspension and tyres. Im praying for fine weather or else Im likely to come to grief!

Holy crap, Macca. Just catching up on the last few days. Thats an epic decision that is.
Congratulations. That garage sale you just had must have really paid off. It's good to know that I own a small part of a 991 GT3. Shall we work out a seat time allocation between you and I for its first track day now or later?

John. I agree. Rare to see one these days especially as tidy/original/NZ new.
David C2 was better value I agree, but 964 are better value in general so nothing new there.
In terms of cost relative to the track, that's hard to say as there are plenty in the RSG who have far more tied up in hardware at risk ( 2 x 3.8RS, 997TT, 996 GT3, Seans 964, Rogers GTR, Patsys GTR, my 993 etc etc)
Ive emailed this out to two folk I know in the market and Im sure it wont last long so if anyone on here hanlers for a 993 might be a good opportunity.

Not sure how much track time the GT3 will see. Wanted to get 2-3 more HD days under my belt before trying it out. Will hopefully have it on the SITT as it will be a more practical tourer than the 993. Will definitely give it a go at HD once I have got the 993 working well first on that track...be interesting/scary what it is capable of....
Unfortunately the sale of all those things only covered the recent work on the 993 at CCS LOL! So you do own the new wheel lug nuts and tyres on the 993....

I'm finding that as long as something has a defined niche, then it gets used. My 996TT is the commuter, 964C4 is the track and sometime Sunday drive car and the Turbo 3.6 will be a fine weather special day car, when we get to Summer.

I believe the 991 GT3 would be all three to be honest. I dont have a commute to deal with of course but I should think the PDK-S tranny would be just fine if I did. Track work no argument Ron/Patsy Sunday drives/Targa Tour would be perfect too.
The 993 is my back up for when the wife is using the GT3. And of course for when the 991 GT3 is gone...
We don't have the bandwidth for more than 2 NZ vehicles.....experience has taught me diminishing scale of intrinsic returns after 2. Its an individual thing however. You have approx. the same invested in three cars as the 991 GT3 is to me - just depends how you like your cake cut I guess....

Thankfully that's settling down right now. We've just launched into the second phase of house renovation so the car strategy will be refinement from here or cheap alterations e.g. on Saturday I will run with one seat, nothing in the frunk and a partial fuel load. Instant 50kg weight reduction and cost = $0. I'm going to talk to Topline about the sunroof. That may be another 12kg lost and an appreciable cabin space gain.

Because I was such a 993 nerd, I kept track of all manuals that have come up for sale since 05, including my lovely silver one.
Dollars are last seen asking price or sale price where known.

Agreed. Investment they are not...
Would it be possible just to remove the headliner to give some extra accommodation? A sunroof delete done properly would run 2-3k expense in panel & pain I should think...
