Maxem, I can help you with the May-11 black, I bought it with Macca's assistance, have since spent about 9k on it getting it right. Almost always the aircon is not working properly, to fix that is not expensive in parts (bought offshore) but takes a while. They also will have rust in front and rear window rubbers. They are always advertised as in excellent condition, this is subjective! Mine has now done 117km, will have an alignment done by Peter Alder this week. If anyone is really serious about turning one into a track car, I might sell it, but it would have to be the right price, and I would probably want too much, better idea to buy a race car as Paul says. Cheers, Craig.

Good info, It's interesting where they turn up. I sold my 97 in oct '09 I was a bit worried about the GFC so priced it well to avoid it sitting on TM long term. It sold in a morning and I could have done better. But you learn. Mine was a $90 k car and I'd be interested in what it is now 4 years on. The guy I sold it to lined it up next to a bunch of classics so I assume it hasn't put on many more than the 35k's I sold it with.

David. Id still buy your old 993 (assumes garage space) for 80k in a heartbeat. Probably the best original condition late production 993 in NZ....

Default Endurance team + maybe a V12 to go with your flat 6

Just looked back on the board and saw I missed the discussion around sharing a Rennlist/RSG endurance drive. I've toyed with the idea before and would be happy to be first reserve, or captain of the B team. Splitting the drive 2 ways was still a bit rich for me + a lot of seat time in one day but I'd be keener on going quarters.

With Macca's garage sale winding down, those looking to maintain some retail therapy with a front-mid engined V12 fix might want to check out the BMW e38 750IL s on TM. No 'ring time but 51/49 weight distribution and good skidpad too. Amazing how well the other specs still hold up today. If you want an 11 speaker, twin-sub 380 Watt sound system, buy a 2013 Range Rover Sport. If you want a 14 speaker quad-sub 440 Watt Bose get this BMW! Ours is the green '96. OK, flame suit on...

Great day at HD, possibly the best track driving weather yet as the temps didn't seem to impact on tyres. The AIM Solo shows that I shaved 4.61 seconds off my best lap in the last outing with the C4. Unfortunately it also shows that the sweeper remains my nemisis. I am still 6 seconds off Peter's best recorded time and the sweeper is sucking up 4 of those seconds as exit speed = lower Vmax on the straight. Roll on Taupo and Manfield.

It was only the batt in yours right? I think it was Matt G that dropped his and buggered the screen..

Matty - I might be able to fix the screen too.

I cant believe how lucky you guys have been with the weather this year. I would have expected constant rain on at least 2 of your HD days but it hasn't happened. Unreal run.

I sincerely hope that we get clear dry weather like this for the NITT or things will be getting pretty hairy on the track for sure.

Ive been watching a few videos on Taupo Track 1 to understand the layout and lines better. I find once I can shut my eyes and drive it it really helps.

Excellent improvement John. So what is that, 124 a lap?

I'll bring it along, worst case if it's not fixable someone can use it for headless logging and can download the results after the day.

Macca, no I wish it was that low. High 1.25 so far.

Doug is @ 1.22 in his new car and Chris managed to drop into the 1.17 in his 996TT so even low 1.20s will have someone in your mirror.

Matt B. I have an external GPS antennae. The lease is in the trunk along with a power supply. It currently is fitted to a TrackIT GPS devise. To comply with Prestigio insurance I was thinking of putting the performance box under the hood there. I think the antennae will screw straight in but the 12v socket for the Trackit may differ from the one on the PB. Do you know what the technical description of the female PB power socket it so I can see if there is such thing as an adaptor available? It would make it a simple swap between the units....

More and more I'm understanding this caper. It's more about cornering than straight line speed at HD. My real problem at the sweeper is over braking. I'm then forced to throttle though the corner which puts stress on the tyres. Better to do what Peter does which looks like enter and maintain that speed through the corner. All the tyres have to do is hang on.
