That's a RL forum members car isn't it? Mark/Pauls old wheels?

Wonder what happened to it? My guess it will go for silly money?

NZ new C2. The last 993 went for a relatively modest price. I wonder if Luke will bid on the auction. 6/1. If not I imagine a few 964 tipo drivers will be salivating at the thought of a box transplant.

Yeah he did - just reading my book (between snoozing) and off to Papamoa beach tomorrow for the week.

Luke - sorry to hear about your car - looks like you have 'lost it' and clipped both ends of the car.

I hope you get another Pcar.

Looks like Razzo is going to have another toy to play with??

JMc - maybe you could do a 993 and back-date it to a 964 wide body?

And into my 993 P*rn collection.........

Not sure how you make the numbers on this work Macca?

$35-40K to buy, at 179K it needs an engine and gear box ($35K) and full suspension and rubbers ($10K) and rims and tyres - ($6k), and you need to straighten it and paint it ($30K), cage ($5K), headers and exhaust, say ($8K) - I'm seeing circa $80K to just repair and convert into a Targa spec car - never mind the purchase price?

Mate - you are talking $80K to unbend it, and circa $130K - $150K to cage and turn into a semi track car.

Just keep your GT3 for another $50K or buy an older 7/6 GT3, or an early 7 cup car and have $50K to run it for 3 years?

Where is the angle??

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used...1005510026.htm

^^^^ JMc - you are swimming in project opportunities!!

Un-993 fender it, de-spoiler it and convert to a hard top!!

Then you would have a wide body 964!!

Or - keep it a cab and speedster it with a low windscreen and rear hood??

Wasn't that the purple car with bad synchros? If so a lot of money has gone into it.

You are right. It doesn't make much sense unless you need a motor for a project or a gearbox....

I don't think you'd want to pay any more than 30k for it. I have the bumpers already and if John buys the bitsa cab I can buy the panels from him.

I'm with Dean at the Boxing Day races. His opinion is the rear quarter area damage is the challenge (subframe half shafts and possible transaxle/gearbox damage.

Probably not worth the hassle...

Didn't the last one with just front end damage go for $18,000?

Having seen the cost of parts I see more money in breaking these cars than fixing them nowadays. The more cars that are being fixed the higher the used part prices goes. I have the garage space....

If you are referring the green 993 - I think Gary paid about $25K?

Being black, 6sp, a C2, kiwi new and Varioram - you have to be at least $30K?

less than that and even I would buy it and forget I own it for 20 years.

The engine, pedals, wiring and box have to be worth $30K?

Imagine the SC/3.2 circa 1,000kg hotrod with 300HP you could make with this??

I suppose that's the big question. With after tax returns on bank deposits right now, I wouldn't feel the pain at all with a medium term play. A lot of parts are NLA so it's a come to papa moment if you have the supply.

The 1M... very good value for money. Biggest issue for me - I felt it was a little twitchy with the shorter wheelbase, quite easy to lose, and I did. After winning a "drift challenge" at one of Mike Eady's Level 3 BMW days at Taupo in it, I lost it on the following slalom challenge. Turbo kicked in coming out of one of the turns, managed to hold it hard on brakes to stop just cms from the barrier. After that I was always a little wary, especially between turns 8 and 9 i.e. the transition from fast left hander to the right "A1" turn onto the old pit straight.

Yeah, a nice bit of road... went down that way to then thru Poihipi Rd to Taupo, love the twists thru there. I was just glad to be going 95km/h in traffic rather than stopped in a queue on Christmas Eve.
