Track conditions were as wet as they get. We were thinking of packing it in early and a Cayman S aquaplaning on the main straight with the sickening sound of metal hitting concrete cemented the decision. Macca, Chris and I went and had a bite in Pukekohe. It's looking better now, but only Macca has gone back as he is staying at HD overnight.
I don't know how many times we need to repeat this but standing water and fast cars do not mix. I think conditions will be a lot better tomorrow so don't panic if that is your first time at the track.

Some insane driving on the Northern m/way today given the amount of standing water.

Simon, a Dentist from Takapuna. He races an Alfa Sud and just started in 2k cup cars. It looked like one of the CCS Targa Tour Caymans without the decals. I haven't seen him before.

Stay safe in the rain guys!
Luckily the weather was good in Wellington yesterday. Pretty special line up of cars with the central Porsche & Ferrari Club chapters having a combined run over the Wairarapa to the Vintage Aviator. They were very generous with their time and held a talk in the museum followed by a display of one of the aircraft. 20 Pcars and 13 Fezza’s made for a pretty epic convoy. Some members had a foot in each camp- so brought both along! Three of us 993s in attendance- I have the ex Paul ex Macca 18’s on my car now too. Nice progression of Ferraris with a 355, 360, 430 and 458 represented. A mean looking 430 on ADV.1 wheels, a P4 330 recreation and even an F12 came along too. Great day out.

Love the fact the Ps & Fs are all mixed up - not grouped up like separate clubs. Very nice line up and loads of variety.
Wheels look perfect too. Can we have some of your weather though?!!

Welcome Luke! THIS thread is the best place for Porsche NZ talk. :-) Has to be pretty close anyway! Your scenery today is far nicer than what we had.
John - the Dentist was Matt (my memory is terrible!!) with the Artic Silver C2S. Not sure what Simon does.

I was relying on Macca's memory. Let's blame it on him!

The mixed clubs was great. Was plenty of good Pcar versus Fezza banter. Predictions the Ferraris would break down on the way... Luckily no issues to report though.

Our next group purchase. Follow-me & obstacle avoidance technology. Wonder if we can debut it on our next hire day or NITT.

Welcome along - pretty sure Thesnowman has a 944 turbo for sale - unless he's decided to keep it after and epic detailing job recently. Search back a few pages or look for recent posts by him.
There are a variety of NZ hangouts but this is probably the most active. There's a few FB pages - PCNZ, early 911, RSG etc but as you will see above there's also a bunch of old duffers who won't go near FB until long after our kids have left it for the next new thing![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

^^^ what he said Luke. The Fezza combo is awesome. Your car is looking good - (you just need to lower 15mm and dial in some neg camber).........

Unbelievably after getting back from a " pub lunch" with the boys yesterday after 3.2 very wet morning sessions. Low and behold the sun was up and the line was drying out. I hoped in my suit and put in two more sessions last one was drying very nicely and was keeping the GTRs honest. Was still a fraction damp here and there. Didn't get below 1.16s but better than the 140s earlier in the day.
Track is damp but no rain and looking really good for a bit of sun and a dry line from mid day!!! :-)
