Steve, I too run endless and love them, good all round and track pad, quiet, high stopping power, and importantly quiet once bedded in. About $400 an axle but $/km is worth it.

Steve. If it's only for one track day I should think the factory pads will be fine. I ran factory pad son all 5 SI tracks last year plus 5000 km road work and used less than half of them. I think they would do another 2ok road miles. When I upgraded to big reds last year I put on MX72 and they have been supurb now with 2 track days a 3 day targa tour and 5000km road work showing little wear and zero squeal but they are pricy and maybe over kill for a single track day.....we still have a place on SITT for the additional tracks if you wanted to put them through their paces :-)

Thanks Macca, brake pads are on the low side now so I need to think about replacement prior. Love to do more track days, however, I will be so annual leave poor after 3 week skiing in Japan ;-)

Cheers for that guys. It won't take me too long to get itchy feet again for another Pcar. Will just be a case of being patient again and waiting for the right car.

I was going through a bunch of my Porsche stuff today and came across some old photo's I had of a silver GT1 at the old CCS premises in Auckland. Must've been 17 odd years ago. Always wondered the back story to the car. Does anyone know if it was a resident here for a while or just visiting? Plate was DW9

100% agree with Macca - I ran enduro pads on the SITT but changed out for stock upon return due to the squeeling. Just run stock pads - 993 brakes are very good - you won't run out of brakes. Better to hook up your front ducts, or install bigger scoops from a GT3 or similar.

Car was just driving through - sold to Singapore I believe.

There were many LHD supercars that get first registered here to enable registering elsewhere for LHD permit and tax reasons.

Car was owned by Danny Wong. Sat in it a few times trying to figure out what parts were 993. Was on a tax holiday in NZ from Malaysia on the 50/50 rule. I've seen it in the states so assume it sold to a collector there after leaving NZ...

Steve. I don't think you will need any addition brake ducting for the 993. It does aid pad longevity particularly for the front rotors, but factory pads will not run out on you. I would recommend new brake fluid. The factory fill will be fine but SRF is better still especially on a longer track like Highlands....

Ahh that solves that then. Was pretty cool to see it in person let alone have a seat in it!

Yeah. DW9 plates now on a 2008 RR Phantom. So I guess that what he has here now. It was a crazy car. Side skirts sat 50mm from the ground and needed wooden chocks it get it in the old workshop around the back. Very low. I dont think it did more than a few 1000 km while it was here.
