The to do list is getting shorter each day, but I missed the WOF and alignment window and will now get that done on 5/1 at CCS.

  • Fit headlight
  • Fill power steering fluid reservoir
  • Finish oil fill
  • Extend indicators tabs
  • Finish fitting splitters
  • Fit Alternator fan belt
  • WOF
  • Alignment
  • Fit harness bar and straps
  • Clean brake callipers
  • Tighten ARB bolts when car is loaded
  • Tighten transmission mount bolts
  • Fit transmission mount inserts
  • Tighten wheel bolts
  • Fit centre console transmission cover
  • Fit usb charger in rear console
  • Fit carbon fibre heater bypass
  • Fit centre console screws
  • Finish fitting door cards

You are not missing anything Macca - you would just be pirating it of the net, or using Netflix's or similar.

My boys don't watch tv either. I think it should be modified to screen viewing. If anything I think most of us are worse than the previous generation in that regard.

Yes there is a bit on that list. Maybe two days work max though when you figure that tightening and filing are easy activities. The splitters may take more work. Essentially the hardest job is that the layer of carbon fibre needs to be trimmed so the splitters follow the bumper curve.

I should be out for a shakedown on 5/1 onwards. Lots of connections to check. Realistically I'll still be refining that on 11/1.

Only two items to wait on now. The transmission mount insert and the heater bypass. The latter is already in the country.

Question for the defender guys out there, considering taking a punt on this sight unseen. The price seems OK for a limited edition model? Was after a small vehicle, everything looks a bit mundane except this, anything in particular I should look out for?

Its a good wagon. 2.0D is a good donk. Others may beable to comment on price - but seems fair to me. I took a short ride in Peters new anniversary edition on Sunday. Looks great. Only think I can say is they are agricultural by modern standards. As a tall guy I would take a test drive in one first make sure you can live with it (knee to steering wheel height, width of driver cell etc). Has plenty of presence!

^ 'soon as I got to the word "Landrover" I stopped reading. Some moons ago I had a series 111A? lwb flatdeck, 2.x litre petrol from 1973ish. Unreliable POS, thirsty, no power. Broke axles thru the spline, went thru points like a hot knife/butter. British Leyland build quality that saw the end of the British car industry.
Tried to drown me on a boat ramp on Stewart Is. You're better off with a '70's Lada.
Get a Toymotor L.cruiser...

And, for anyone that cares - they hold value like a Lada

LXV (65 in Roman Numerals) has a limited edition of just 20 vehicles in New Zealand - six Defender 90 station wagons and 14 110 station wagons.

This bit of add copy is written with only one hand on the keyboard.

Sounds like the millennium edition 996, it needs to be short wheel base for round town, so takes a Land Cruiser out of the equation. I drive a truck daily so an agricultural feel doesn't bother. Lack of reliability will though.
