Fill yer boots on Sunday. I see it's reverse grid, which isn't my favourite. I'm also traveling for another two weeks from the Monday, so might be political to spend some time at Home. I wonder how the R will go down parked in Whangarei at the Bank? Maybe I should take BB2!
Spoke to Mark and Sunday looks iffy as they expect a very solid turnout from the top 50 (54th serves me right for spinning at Taupo and not finishing at least 17th), but he's pretty certain of getting the entry numbers to run a second field on Saturday, which we are encouraged to run the cars in too (under alternative race numbers). He'll ensure we're refunded for the second entry if the additional field doesn't eventuate so I'm happy to fire in that second entry for BB2 and just share the drive if anyone else wants halves. Seeing as there's no downside in doing so, we should also enter the Grinch twice, and even BB if she's good to go and there is enough driver interest.
Epic scenery. $1950 for the day doesn't seem excessive. Anyone been there before? (for events other than team building, think I might have had a few meetings about efficient meeting planning there many years ago...).
That's really interesting. 13 years ago we hired Boomrock for two days for a planning retreat when I was with the telecom executive team. I had no idea they had a track up there! maybe it wasn't built then? Took the 911 for the ride up there too which was a lot of fun.
It would be great to add this onto the NITT one year!

It's lovely. I went there on a Deloitte jolly a few years ago. Extreme golf, archery and some nice food/wine. No motorsports unfortunately. Remember thinking what an amazing location.
Oh, that's right, I own a Honda. And apparently some T-shirts. Will be like Xmas.
Hey Jason.. Saw Out of Town on Saturday at Nth Head @ 3.30. I was bringing Parimar down from her Nthland refit
Tried waving but my beer slopped everywhere so I stopped.. you Yachties never wave at us stink boaters anyhow

Agreed. Make a nice third track after Manfield. Reminds me of Evos favourite track right now (forgot the name). As a course it doesn't look particularly challenging but as a location add in some shooting and a nice meal couldn't get much better aye. How many private race tracks are there in NZ? Someone said three? There's a wealthy CCS client up near wells ford with his own runway. A GT3 mate of mine in Adelaide sold him one of a handful of piloted turbo prop planes in NZ. 7 figure price ticket. I'm thinking to get ahold of him maybe we could run an event on his airfield? Love to do a tour of the private tracks and testing grounds of NZ....
Wow, I've never heard of the place! And at $2500/day with an instructor it could be a great weekend drive.
I have been on the track there sitting in passenger seat with Stu Owers doing a few laps as a fun thing - we were really there for a Xmas function long lunch with lots of vino not track day.
Pretty narrow and no runoff so quite dangerous and unforgiving. Not for NITT in my view. A few years ago a Mercedes instructor got a couple of wheels off the track and ended up on the lid with a client in the car too.

Nice spot! Yes, bit like air-coolers and water-coolers; had my Nelson eye on. Just got away for an overnight at Oneroa. Nice SW out and a SE back. Too lazy to get the Genny out.

Is that the runway at Springfield? Maybe we could do the skid pan idea there?
