Phil thanks for hosting on your boat last night. the perfect spot for an evening with you all. I did worry I might have to walk the plank after being found out for bringing two stroke on board though..

Not sure what up with that vendor but I think he has a touch of syphilis. it makes you mad eventually. Its been on an off the market for as long as I remember. Maybe because he washed it its worth 8K more today?maybe he got a copy of last months 911 & Porsche World and saw they are worth more in the UK.....

$60K for a 3.2 Carrera...........
Extra gutted about missing my resale red one @ $50K now :-(
Will be interesting to see how kiwi market withstands this? I think the days of sub $50K 911's in NZ will be a distant memory soon...........

Paul. Chill.
Not sure why you actually get concerned about this stuff. I can pout my 993 on TM tonight for $120K if it will make you feel better about your 993? It wont sell just like this pre G50 early SC will almost certainly not sell for 60K but if you sleep better....
Its like the 964 going up by 8K 60 minutes ago and assuming 964 prices in NZ have just gone up. Frankly the only cars that have sold very quickly on TM recently have been UNDEPRICED. Im thinking Jakes 997T, the two 993s which went in a few days etc
So we have empirical evidence that stuff sits on TM forever overpriced and uncerpriced stuff sells in a few days. I guess thats what's called market forces.
Just remember the example I gave you last night about the GT3 that was asking almost twice what it sold for etc
P.S. Saw the silver and orange 997.1 GT3RS today (ex Jona Lomu) at CCS. Its just resold. I think it went mid 100s. Very nice specs with ceramic brakes (if they are your thing). Modest kms (I think 30?) overall condition pretty good. IMO this is the kind of car you should be networking for via Tony and the boys at CCS. These cars are already fetching well more than that in UK but better still you can use them for their intended purpose and they are QUICK! Take a passenger ride in the 991 GT3 at taupo during my prestige session and see for yourself (or actually given its all new to me maybe Ill scare us both!).

I'm not concerned about values, compared to Auckland house prices - cars are peanuts, and go up peanuts (even RS's and 964 3.6T's)
I just saw a car I really-really wanted and are gutted I missed out on it.
I showed Jenni the silver and orange 997.1 RS you mentioned, it was parked in Mission Bay on Sunday and she thought it was a try-hard bling-bling, look at me car (which is all true)............but i still want one............

And you are looking at the value proposition correctly. I took the 45K I made from my 993RS in 2004 and put it into a property then sold that and put the money into a few businesses - Id conservatively say that money has multiplied 6-7x by now. Ian tells me last week when valuing my 993 a NZ 993RS is worth up to 280K now for the best example. So my old car maybe is worth 70% (100K) more than I sold it for in 2004. Subtract 10 years f insurance, maintenance, Rego, WOF and the odd bigger bill and thats really 70K. Do the math. Even during the bubble its not rocket science, you make more money owning a business firstly (ROI should be 20-25% pa before tax if you are doing it right) then property secondly (ROI last 10 years has been perhaps 7% pa average dependant on suburb in Auckland). The RS has performed worse than both. Weve been through this already on here a few times. No one I know on here buys them for investment...
