Where was the cars and coffee in NJ? I know there's one next weekend.
Millers Ale House Mt. Laurel NJ has a C&C every Saturday Morning until about 10am weather pending that usually have a nice turn out.

Not 100% sure yet but I have a thread started on it. (Not sure if appropriate to post it here). But there was a lot of drivetrain noise that the seller attributed to the lightweight flywheel. One day clutch failed to disengage(possibly slave cylinder) and that’s when the tear down started. No slipping or gear disengagement symptoms, just lots of racket.

Plugs & coils time & a fresh oil & filter. plus time to do some spring cleaning after taking her out of storage. This is my first 911 so I was excited to get in there and do some more maintenance. Had done oil & filters and brakes/rotors before putting her away in the fall.

2009 997.2 C2S full Fabspeed exhaust setup from headers back. I did not need to remove anything except the rear wheels to do the plugs and coils. Put her up on jack stands, removed the rear tires, and just had to remove the upper heat shields. Very easy procedure. The heat shields were a bit of a challenge to move out of the way - but manageable. Definitely need the right set of swivel / wobble extensions and contorting your arm into tight spaces - but it was pretty easy. Tried to scope the cylinder walls, but my scope/cam was only able to really see the bottom of the piston. That looked clean enough - just a bit of carbon build up...

Plugs and coils - 911 / 997.2 C2S = full fabspeed exhaust

dirt, debris, nasty dirty behind the rear wheel arch liner... Definitely need to clean there in the future.

while watching a DIY video on YouTube and it suggested removing the rear wheel wells and clean behind them as they tend to collect a lot of crap. I'm REALLY glad I did that. Just looks at the amount of debris that was back there - it was moist and really compacted dirt and stones and very likely would have led to some nasty rust in the future! The wavy stuff above the sensor is all caked on dirt. Definitely strongly recommended to take those off and clean well behind them ASAP if you have not done so.

@voidopolis I love the exquisite surface finish machined inside the plug recesses.

Swapped in a new voltage regulator, new idler pulleys, new tensioner pulley, and new drive belt. Check your alternator voltage on high mile cars. My .1C2 has 146k miles and the voltage regulator was clearly failing. When idling I was getting 15.2V at the battery. New regulator is a $40 part and may prevent more expensive component failure. You can see the worn contacts on the old vs new in the image below. ...and now I can run my clear LED markers without them flickering due to the high voltage!

Default PROPER Dead Pedal Installed on my GTS

Why Porsche provided cheap OEM dead pedal I don’t know...Perhaps so they can charge $150+ for the matching unit. Thanks SunCoast. Porsche? Not so much...Get it right the first time. Rant off.

Wink

JAAM,

Is 10mm front and 15mm rear what's necessary to fill the gaps? Are you happy with how it turned out?
