Installed a new AGM battery for my 997.1S. The old Interstate plain lead acid was in there for 4 years and even though it’s been on a Porsche battery maintainer, I figure why not since it seems the starting has been a little weak lately. New one in and starts right up.
I kept the battery maintainer plugged in the center console cigarette lighter plug hoping that it would retain all my settings and it did for all except the window auto up function so I still had to do a window reset afterwards, but no prob with anything else including the TPMS which didn’t need a relearn.
AGM size H7 from Pep Boys. About $200 after core return of $27. Not bad.

Installed some new Forgelines FU3C along with some Jaspe Coco mats! I also added a DSC controller, which has been a fantastic addition. Full gallery and details on the wheels: https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...-on-a-9972-c2s

@JRitt@essex Those wheels look super classy - very good choice indeed
Changed the drive belt and air filters. The info here was of great help, as was the video in German although I knew not to touch the torx screw for the tensioner. I had to slip the belt on the tensioner pulley last as I could not get it on the alternator. I found reinstalling the spacer a bit fiddly and using a long screwdriver to align it helps. A strong magnetic retriever is a must. Did it based on time (2009) and not miles (20K<) Original belt was fine.
Celebrating the 100k mile mark with a massive update to my car, a 991.2 GT steering wheel, 6MT. Super easy swap, with no error codes or dashboard lights save a PSM warning that cleared in about five minutes. I love how the wheel dresses up the cabin, the way it blends with the rest of the design, and I love the thicker wheel whose stitching is an almost perfect match for my interior. I spent a bit more than I wanted to but I have no regrets now that I’ve had a couple drives to see/feel the difference. Original triangle steering wheel it was never my favorite. 991.2 GT wheel from Suncoast installed in about ten minutes, I sourced the airbag module separately on EBay The cabin now feels a bit more like a cockpit She’s been so good to me, she deserves some jewelry now and again
