Why Porsche provided cheap OEM dead pedal I don’t know...Perhaps so they can charge $150+ for the matching unit. Thanks SunCoast. Porsche? Not so much...Get it right the first time. Rant off.
That’s one of the first mods I did when I got my 997. It should come standard...and does starting with the 991 model range.
Greetings again, beloved Rennlisters. Have been away for a few months -- have a very sick friend and work has been a bear. So smiles came to me yesterday when I changed the oil and got her out of a long Vermont hibernation.
The smile from a short drive yesterday was almost Botox-like in its staying power...
Going out for a longer drive today.
Great to be back to catch up with everyone.
Bob
First time the cover has been off since October. The easiest oil change. Ever. And so cathartic. Not the best shot, but a gorgeous day.
A few things over the past months have reinforced that whole "mortality" thing that I've previously tried to ignore. I'm going to enjoy things a lot more going forward, and driving this little thing is one of them.
Did some of my own work today, installed the some more pieces from exclusive options (leather steering column and gauge surround) also installed the numeric pedals. I added a small bit of felt on the pedals just as insurance I’m always worried bout NVH w metal to metal contact.
And finally got around to putting on the all red taillights.
Yeaterday, a friend with huge detailing experience showed me how its done. Good thing he loves to work on Porsches. I was his gopher/apprentice for the day. After deep cleaning and polishing, he applied Gtechniq crystal serum ultra ceramic coating and the results are awesome. He also wet sanded and polished the headlight lenses which had become cloudy, with great results.

Thanks for the nice comment !
I picked up a lot of pictures from the web to serve as guidelines.
By the way, one thing which I never really found, and you're just pointing at it with your perfect picture is to understand how is the seal between the horizontal leather piece and the "bucket" piece.
Would you mind give it a zoomed shot ? And if by chance you can also take a shot of how it looks under the small rubber mat I would be very grateful !!
It’s a rainy day here today so doing inside work. Did the paint part last week. The gold is a metallic sticker from a friends shop. The red is guards red. I think it came out pretty good. And yes I’ll fix the nix in the wall tomorrow. The picture above the door my son took too.
