Loving the leather in my car I gently pushed my mom to investigate her abilities to manufacture some nice extra pieces (retired parents needs some occupation !!!)
She promptly replied a "yes with great pleasure !" but later one when I came back with the plastic door sills and the pictures of leathered sills as the objectives she was close to heart attack... so I packed my stuff and went back home thinking at getting in the game by myself (sky is the limit ! )
After a while she call me back and said she has thought about it a bit more and would like to try !
So here I am with a temptative on a small piece, and very happy with the result. That is not first class leather sewing, she had to use close dots to make it, and the thread would need some oil or coating to look good, but that's family job at the end
Next step is on the way with the door sills, but that double and curvy sewing seems to be a nightmare !

Neat. I would say with a longer stitch length and maybe a different thread type that frays less, you'll be in good shape.
At 161k without a deep sump, what changed to warrant one. Especially with a planned rebuild around the corner?
I got a good deal on the kit and have some trackdays planned this year. I also had some elevated wear in my last UOA (about 3ppm above my averages) so I figured I'd install the sump if I didn't see any bore scoring signs with the sump dropped. Scope didn't show any signs but it doesn't mean I'm in the clear yet since the wear was only slightly elevated. I may have just lost the skirt jacket coating and it's in really early stages. I figured I'll just install the sump and then build the motor next year as planned so I don't have to live with the worry of bore scoring. Now that I've started tracking this car, it'll also bee good to address the other failure points of the motor when it's subjected to track abuse as well. But since I'm not planning to do a build until next year, I figured I'd install the deep sump to do what I can to reduce the risks with the current setup. Easier to build a working motor than one that's failed.
Aluminum trimmed dead pedal. Not happy Porsche didn’t supply the car with it as standard, as they do starting with the 991, but glad I put it in cause it looks matched with the rest of the pedals now...
Thanks, Suncoast Porsche Parts sells them online. To remove the old one just use a plastic pry tool and jam it below the bottom of the pedal and then lift up (use your right hand pull it up from the right side of the pedal as you are prying up) and it will pop up. Then, just install your new one by pressing downward and it will slide down into position.

Got my rear and upper upper deck coco mats today. They look great with the gray interior. Although I am not sure about the fit of the rear deck. As pictured it’s the only way it seems to fit with the seats up. Totally happy with their product and customer service.
Finally got around to installing my LN 2 qt deep sump kit along with an oil change. Also swapped coilpacks and spark plugs while I was in there.
On another note, I didn't find anything in the pan either after dropping it. Zero traces of metal, plastic, or anything else thankfully. Good sign of health for my motor which just turned 161k miles! Here to hoping it make it until next year when I plan to do a motor build.
Good sign for sure. There's been some water pump discussions here lately. At 161K miles, are you still on the original one or have you replaced it once or twice? As I said in one of those discussions, I had one fail at just over 40K miles on the -09 C4S. Some fail early like that one and others last for a lot of miles.

I think I'm on the second water pump for this car. It was an 06 stamped water pump that I pulled out at 157k miles which was surprising. I didn't have a record of a water pump being done by the previous owner so it's possible it was done earlier in the car's life but I couldn't find a record of it in my docs with the car.
