A couple days late, but I got my 997.2 a friend, and had a 4 post lift set up so that all 3 cars could be parked in the garage. It's kinda like having bunk beds for the cars...

Thanks, sir. It's a 2007 V8 Vantage, titanium silver over obsidian black; 27k miles with 6spd manual. It's a pretty basic spec car, for the most part I think. I've wanted a 911 since I was a kid, and a Vantage since they debuted in 2005. Just paid off the 997, and figured there was no better time to jump head first into getting the Aston. Life's short; gotta have dessert first! I think I am set for my midlife crisis...
Friends and relatives ask why I didn't sell the Porsche; why have two sports cars (these are not 'car' people, BTW, so obviously, they just don't get it). Both cars offer completely different driving experiences; the 997 is more focused and intense whereas the Vantage is more isolated and relaxed. Both are fantastic cars to drive and I can't help but smile every time I get behind the wheel of either. But they are very different in character and behavior. The Vantage is not, and never will be a replacement to the 997, and now having experienced the Aston, I can't imagine life without it either.
So for me... It's the 997 for fun, and the Vantage for enjoyment.
@Iceter The lift came with 4 drip trays and an additional tray for tools. But so far, the British car seems to have decent bladder control
I replaced the air oil separator ...My car started squealing like a piggy and blowing smoke on start up like a Kiss concert the other day.... All good now !!
Making some real progress now. Normal Serpentine belt installed. Supercharger belt cage, tensioner, and belt installed. Exhaust system reinstalled and everything tightened.
Need to hook the battery back up, put oil back in, vacuum fill the cooling system, then should be ready to start again. From cutting the filler neck, I tried to block the fill neck below the cut position, but I'm going to do a temporary oil fill for only 100 miles or so with some BR30 I have left to get any cutting residue captured by the oil filter before putting the rehular oil back in for the next 3,000 miles.
Pete: That engine bay, the components and the attention to detail... a work of art worthy of being framed!
Thanks buddy. I thought so too and had drawings made of my different cars that are framed and hanging in my office. I have the RUF, the 928 Spyder, the 914, and need to send pics of the widebody Cayenne to the artist so he can complete my set
