Sand-y, the inside wear on that tire means you need a proper alignment as that is not right at all from street use. Also, are you running door jamb inflation? just checking.
Posted my new avatar photo of the new whip all shined up. I have to grab some of the new pics to show you a few new mods...first a close up of the EMC2design.com 991 front lip kit on my 997.2 was easy to install and works on track too. (car is still on jack stands in photo). The lip is on in my avatar photo.
20,000 on the rears? I get that on my fronts but this is what my rears look like after about 11,000 miles. Pretty consistent on the three 997's I've owned. All three H&R lowered though which I know eats tires. I haven't tracked either one of these cars so alignments and toe have been set for street driving and tire longevity rather than track performance. Still 10,000 to 12,000 miles on the rears looking like this.
Likely she drives differently from you and I and she's running Hankook Ventus Evo2 tires, which probably have a different compound than the Michelins or something similar you run. But, that's why we use these on her car - excellent wet weather performance from the directional tread pattern, good wear numbers for her driving style, and less expensive. Don't get me wrong, they work well for more aggressive driving too, as I sometimes take her car for a blast to make sure everything is working as it should, but the wear numbers would likely be lower if driven that way all the time.
My Nitto Invos last similar mileage to yours, but they're also trying to harness almost 500 HP with rear wheel drive only. That's one of the reasons I'm moving to a 325/30 on my next set with 245s or 255s up front.

My NSX use to eat the insides of the rears like that. It was typical of the car due to the camber on fact specs. I was getting 1 year from a set or rears. I had a shop adjust the camber so it would wear evenly across the rears. Worked beautifully and did'nt feel any change in handling.

Yep, we've dialed out some of the camber and toe in the rear to achieve these numbers - camber is still in the range, just at the very bottom. It would appear that it's the camber number that seems to effect the inside wear, more than the toe number as that is still middle of the range.
Here are the alignment specs we run on her car. Mine uses GT3 settings where I'm less concerned about tire life and prefer ultimate performance.
Finally installed the Moshammer side skirts I bought ages ago that I had CF vinyl wrapped. Need a set of EMC2's rear bumper spoilers to complete the look, but they fit well and have a nice shape.
Used the 3M body tape they cam with and the one screw hole in the back that goes into the black plastic aero piece. I didn't use the front screw hole because didn't want to drill into the silver lower body piece.
Looks good Pete.. happy to see someone else running these.

Thanks.
Just finished swapping all my plugs back to OEM. The new silver electrode plugs I tried fouled in 150 miles and created misfires on #5, but #4 didn't look great either.
Just took the car for a high speed blast and it's running great. Will probably be what I take to Road Atlanta for the races on Friday & Saturday if the next couple drives also go well. So happy to have this thing back on the road and running right.
The other ones are cool and fun, but they ain't this one.
I have done that and this is how it looks. You are going to need either a dremel or a finger sander to remove the tiptronic face plate as it is plastic welded to the surround trim.
Looks great, do you have accent lighting (little LEDs or something) inside the console for night display of your shift mech?
?

Looks great Rick - thank you for sharing.
Time for a fall mountain drive soon...

I do not. Although that sounds like a pretty cool idea.
Unfortunately the center console is removed completely today when I put my long-waited Recaro Pole Position ABE seats in. I absolutely love the additional gearbox noise without the center console on top of the Numeric Racing cables. Also this allows me to go for a Rennline shifter riser which is going to make the Numeric shifter the center piece of the interior.
