[QUOTE=Carfan1;18583809]Here are pics. As you can see I'm using an AA wireless dongle that is stored in the cubby under the HVAC. But the cable could easily come out anywhere.
But what's in the front USB socket?

If you go into the map itself, touch the bottom right corner to get into settings. Go to About, next touch Content, next touch Maps. Hope your state exists. As Steve mentioned, they are listed alphabetical, and every state after New York is missing.

GIG. The satellite info on your gps strength is located in a section in the maps area called Usefull Info. Touch that area and the last item is GPS strength

Okay, this is really interesting about the maps. I took the card out and loaded it into a laptop running windows. Found some interesting stuff. The system is actually run by something called iGo. TomTom supplied the maps to them. It is an app on the iPhone that looks just like our maps in the car. Same layout. When I went into the iGo file I found a subdirectory called content. In this directory I located all the states for the map. They are all there! Each state has two files associated with it. I tried moving Texas to top and no luck. I am thinking this might be a licensing issue where they are not allowed to show states. I will share with Porsche Grapevine who is working with Classic team.

I also tried renaming Texas to Alabama to fake out system. Still no luck. I’m happy to try any suggestions you guys have.

Anyone have a recommendation of an installer in Los Angeles?

The camera installed was a redeen lip cam. I'll have to get a picture up later. It's very discrete and hardly noticeable from the back of the car. I do a lot of work on my car, but I am not skilled with electronic installations. I asked the shop owner what he did and he said it was complicated. They worked on the car for an entire day before they figured it out. He said that he had to find another pin connection for the back of the unit since it didn't have one. I realize this is probably not very helpful and can try getting more information.
The camera works perfectly. It interrupts whatever is playing on the PCCM when the car is put into reverse. Music is muted but still audible when you're reversing.
I have no white noise at all.
I have to admit, I am disappointed with the internal mic. I did a bunch of testing with the external versus internal mic. I may wind up going back to the external mic. Voice quality is quite muted.

Did you install the external mic and if so, were you able to compare the internal mic to the external mic while driving? My test yielded slightly better results with the internal mic, but I was parked. I'm curious if that would be consistent while driving, or if the external mic, for whatever reason, might be better. Regardless, neither the external nor the internal mic are fantastic.
